FS Nav, FSBuild, Loading FMC Correctly

Featured Replies

I have started my journey to the heavens recently registering with Vatsim and got myself FSnav, FsBuild, FSMetro,Roger Wilco and good Ol' Squawk Box. Now up till this point I have been flying using the MCP WITHOUT loading the FMC. So here I am building a flight plan getting all my Sids and Stars and fire up my FMC to load all this stuff up and thats where I got "confused a little"............Lol. I can load my plan only by adding it through the "co route". I do not see ANYWHERE on the FMC pgs. to do otherwise so please tell me if i'm mistaken. Now, I know I am missing quite a bit here seeing that most data is still missing and incomplete on my FMC. I was foolish I suppose in thinking that all this stuff would be added for me after building my plan in FSBuild. I can see no Vref speeds so I know my weight is needed. So my question to all of my buds out here is this. After building a flight plan via FSnav or Fsbuild what EXACTLY do I need to imput into the FMC AFTER entering my Co Route? Sorry for the INGNORANCE but hey you gotta start somewhere! Best Wishes, Randy J. Smith

Tero,After all that Randy has done to our community you just tell him to read the manual? Why bother to reply at all?Randy,Import your FsBuild flight plan stored in 'pilots' folder by inserting COROUTE name. You can check what's in by looking into LEGS page. There, you should have your waypoints listed. Then, go to DEP/ARR page and select runways and SIDS/STARS for departure and arrival airports (you can skip choosing STAR until you're half way through your flight, when you know what to expect). You must activate your plan by choosing 'activate' in the lower right corner. Having done that, move on to PERF page to insert basic performance data, i.e. ZFW, fuel reserves and all info that FMC calls for. Having completed that, move on to the TAKEOFF page to insert flap setting and to confirm the data to be activated. These are basics. To get more in-depth tutorial consult your manual.Best regardsDon

Don,Oh dear god!If the guy obviously has NO clue, the very often repeated phrase RTFM would have been something of a rude one. I don't care if Randy here had invented the entire concept of a flight simulator, I really don't, and it has NOTHING to do with the fact that PIC767 is a panel that demands knowledge, and initially it's obtained from the manuals. I appreciate the work he has done for the community, I really do, but the facts that remain are the same for every single one of us who operate this beautiful bird: RTFM.I HONESTLY thought that a polite advisory of going back to manuals would have been OK. Obviously there's always someone who has to know better!Secondly, I don't even know how many times I've told people how to import flight plans into FMC etc. It's a matter of a small search in the forums AND/OR reading the bloody manual. That's what it's there for.And Randy: ^^ that was REALLY not meant to be any disrespect, not at all, I want you to know that, and keep on doing those mods!!Terops. Oh, and the changes / FP information has to be EXECuted as well to get the preflight completed...

Tero,With all due respect.Do not take my reply personally, please.I am just tired of unkindness throughout forums.People tend to vent their unhappiness in here.If someone posts his question, that means one has a problem one cannot resolve. Good manners require anybody to help him to the maximum extend possible, or not reply at all.We can either be friendly to each other, or give it all up all together.Just my two cents worth, sir.I send my best regards, nevertheless......sipping delicious Guiness in DublinDon

Don,Point taken, and no hard feelings whatsoever!Enjoy the fine elixir!regards,Teroand btw. I'm currently reading a book called "Eureka Street, Belfast", which obviously takes place in Belfast, I thoroughly recommend it, and from a Finn's point of view it makes a fascinating read!
