November 11, 200223 yr >Did anyone manage to get landing lights from the cockpit and >cockpit lighting with Phil Geddes or crvm vfr panels? >Thank you, >Luca I sould have the Landing lights working later this week and in fact I just need to change some things in the CFG. Hopefully I will have raindrops also going on. I'll post it when I have it completed. As for panel lighting I have not got that far seeing that most do not worry about panel lights on final.......... :] Best Wishes, Randy Smith Randy J Smith
November 11, 200223 yr You can swap out FS2002's default 'minipanel' gauge set with the VFR panel. This will allow for landing lights, rain, ect. Also great for taxiing at night! (you can see those damn blue lights finally, lol)Here's How:Goto your FS2002/aircraft/default/panel folder and backup the panel directory there. Copy the VFR panel bitmap into the directory listed aboveMake a new panel.cfg and save it with the following entries ;; [MiniPanels]; [MiniPanels SingleEngine]; [MiniPanels MultiEngine]; [MiniPanels NoVacuum];; [MiniPanels Prop]; [MiniPanels Prop SingleEngine]; [MiniPanels Prop MultiEngine];; [MiniPanels TurboProp]; [MiniPanels TurboProp SingleEngine]; [MiniPanels TurboProp MultiEngine];; [MiniPanels Jet]; [MiniPanels Helicopter];[MiniPanels]MiniPanel00=Mini Panel Gauges[MiniPanels Jet]MiniPanel01=Mini Panel Gauges for Single Engine Aircraft[MiniPanels NoVacuum]MiniPanel02=Mini Panel Gauges for Primitive Aircraft[MiniPanel00]position=7size_mm=600,100window_size=0.9,0.20child_3d=1background_color=0,0,0ident=MINIPANELgauge00=MiniPanel!Airspeed, 0, 0, 100, 100gauge01=MiniPanel!Turn Coordinator, 100, 0, 100, 100gauge02=MiniPanel!Attitude, 200, 0, 100, 100gauge03=MiniPanel!Heading Indicator, 300, 0, 100, 100gauge04=MiniPanel!Altimeter, 400, 0, 100, 100gauge05=MiniPanel!Vertical Speed, 500, 0, 100, 100[MiniPanel01]file=767VFR.bmpsize_mm=1280,1024window_size_ratio=1.00 position=6child_3d=0background_color=0,0,0ident=MINIPANELgauge00=B767WAfds_0001!Gear, 1320,370,101,456gauge01=B767WAfds_0001!Nav1, 1056,617,364,171gauge02=B767WAfds_0001!MasterSwitch, 963,685,58,49gauge03=B767WAfds_0001!Autoland, 808,809,119,66gauge04=B767Wairspeed_0001, 345,874,153,152gauge05=B767Waltimeter_0001, 797,883,138,139gauge06=B767Weadi_0001, 544,836,195,158gauge07=B767Wgpws_mute, 1194,865,89,72gauge08=pss_757.standby_adi, 994,821,149,141gauge09=B767WAfds_0001!OMI, 934,925,42,155[MiniPanel02]position=7size_mm=400,100window_size=0.6,0.20child_3d=1background_color=0,0,0ident=MINIPANELgauge00=MiniPanel!Airspeed, 0, 0, 100, 100gauge01=MiniPanel!Compass, 100, 0, 100, 100gauge02=MiniPanel!Altimeter, 200, 0, 100, 100gauge03=MiniPanel!Vertical Speed, 300, 0, 100, 100----------------------Ok, now you should be set. Run FS2002, press the W key once and viola, there's your new VFR panel replete with raindrops and landing lights. One issue with this method is that the view perspective might be a little messed up when you first switch to this view and back. Experiment with alt-enter and alt-backspace to see what key combo will restore the right up or down perspective and then you can assign the proper key sequence to a joystick button.Hit W twice to return to full cockpit view. Pretty cool stuff!
November 11, 200223 yr This is for the Phil Geddes vfr panel view but you can sub another bitmap and gauge set accordingly.
November 13, 200223 yr Jonas,You should download the latest version of my panel from the Avsim library! Search for "geddes"...Phil Geddes
November 13, 200223 yr Phil (and Randy)Is this new minipanel-implementation already working as it should, i.e. are the viewpoints as they were before ?Tero PPL(A)
November 13, 200223 yr Not yet Tero. We need to figure out how to adjust the default minipanel ZOOM and HEIGHT and then it sould be perfect! As it is now the view works if you use Shift+Enter and Shift+Backspace for seat height BUT this also effects the Main PIC panel. It needs to be set somewhere, maybe in the FS2002cfg?? If anyone knows how to change the default minipanel default veiw settings please feel free to help! Best Wishes, Randy Smith Randy J Smith
