November 25, 200223 yr I like it. I've been playing around with it but haven't actually fly with it yet. One thing, if you're not going to build in the metric-->english converter (or english version altogether), can you at least provide a conversion calculator? Right now I'm using http://www.onlineconversion.com/ to do my converting.
November 25, 200223 yr Hello all,Since Wagner will be busy this week, I'll take the liberty to provide help wherever possible.first to jbarruezo, Jose -The series of #### usualy means that the cell content is wider than the cell width. Whenever this happens in a "regular" cell (thus not a drop down list like the flight level selection), you can double click on the cell border and it will auto resize to contain the text inside. However, since the cells should be wide enough as provided, it seems like you have a problem with your preferences. so make sure to do the following:1. follow Wagner's instructions as written on page 1 of the sheet (including enabling the add-in).2. try and provide a screenshot, it might be helpful for me to solve the issue.and everyone remember the dispatcher won't accept trips shorter than 250nm - the FL selection and other calculations will not work.Tell me if any of the above worked for you.Ilan
November 25, 200223 yr I think Wagner already said he will not do it due to lack of time. Anyway I'll try and help with this one.BTW - see my post above for some troubleshooting...Bye,Ilan
November 25, 200223 yr hiHow to indicate a number right in "AVG WND DIR" and also "AVG WND SPD" for a very long flight?I use FSMETEO (online) which can indicate with the flight plan of FS; the wind, its direction, its force and calculate the deviations of course, the ground speeds etc. by segment But it cannot calculate the average. Would somebody be to do that? that would make it possible to have a figure almost right has to enter TRIP DATASORRY FOR MY ENGLISHF-AT27
November 25, 200223 yr Hey Preston,A rough and quick way to convert Kg to lbs is...2.2lbs = 1KgThe dispatch sheet generated actually DOES list fuel to load in lbs, which is nice, but all of the burn calculations are in Kilos. I just keep a calculator close by.Good Luck!Great Progran Wagner, Thanks!Jeff
November 25, 200223 yr Hello, Ilan.I check all the settings, and no work for me. I also check this issue with another people that also have Office XP, and these problems are present too. These people also use the spanish version of Office XP.I send here some screenshots. I use the data provided on the sheet as it unzip without modify it for the shots, but I also try with another data, with the same results.Regards,Jose M. BarruezoSpainhttp://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3de1357e7af53983.jpg
November 25, 200223 yr Wagner,I'm using the Dutch version of Office 97 with Win ME and have the same result as above (with other error names of course, but in the same fields).Settings are as you have prescibed, so it must bu something different. It's a pity, because the sheet look terrific.Kind regards,Stephan Haas
November 25, 200223 yr Hi Stephan and Jose (or anyone else having the same problem):It seems like a problem in converting temperature from centigrade to kelvin. I need you to find an empty cell and type the following in it:='Trip data reken'!G78(exactly like that, then enter). If the number you get is negative or "#N/A", then this is the problem. If not, it might be just a language problem, and I am into it also.I have some more checks to do if this is not the problem, so stay with me...Bye,Ilan
November 25, 200223 yr I guess I'll go search for some constants and program my TI83 to do the conversions :)
November 25, 200223 yr In a few days hopefully, after solving the issue detailed above, I will add a converter to the sheet, at least to the printed pages.Ilan
November 25, 200223 yr Ilan,Thanks for your help!Tried and got 216 as an answer (standard spreadsheet). Do you think there's a way to circumvent the language problem?Kind regards,Stephan Haas
November 25, 200223 yr Hi Ilan,I have the same problem as Stephan and Jose. I entered ='Trip data reken'!G78as you suggested. My Excel gives me a value (216), so this doesn't seem to be a problem in temperature conversion. Do you have any other hints?I'm really looking forward to finding a solution, because the "767 Dispatcher" looks soooo great! ;-)Best Regards,Phil (LOWW)
November 25, 200223 yr Hi Phil and Stephan - If any of you guys online now (22:42 UTC) and have the time to do some checks, drop me a message to my mail, and tell me if you have ICQ or windows [email protected]
November 25, 200223 yr Hello.I obtain an error message with this formulaeRegards,Jose M. BarruezoSpainhttp://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3de1357e7af53983.jpg
November 26, 200223 yr Hello guys,Yesterday I made some checks with Phil (until 2AM :-)).It seems like there is a problem with the data analysis toolpack, which is malfunctioning for some people. Please check your Excel version, and if you did not install the service release pack 1 (SR1), try and download it from here:http://office.microsoft.com/assistance/2000/O2kSR1Intl.aspx (choose a location for download from this link. it's a big file BTW).I'm into it today, so I will probably have the solution later. Anyway if this helps, tell us so so everyone can benefit.Later,Ilan*** see updated message in new thread ***PS - to check your version go to help -> about. then you will see a version number like "9.0.3230 SR1". if no SR1 beside the version number, then the service release is not installed.PS #2 - My pardon for the guys that emailed me yesterday without response - I was doing the check with Phil and forgot to check the mail...
