Zero Fuel Weight

Featured Replies

Just how do I actually enter the Zero Fuel Weight into the program or FS so that it flys and performs according to that weight? I am not talking about the FMC. I know that I have to enter it in the FMC which is fine, but when I enter it (ZFW) into the FMC will the aircraft act like it has this amount of weight on it. (obviously sim specific) If not where do I have to enter the ZFW so that it performs according to that weight???Also when loading the Fuel from the Fuel menu can I change it to Kilograms instead of pounds ?? I don't seem to be able to.ThanksBARGE

Hello-Changing the ZFW so that the aircraft performs and flies like a specific weight requires changing the aircraft.cfg file and, I believe, the AIR file as well. This can get fairly complicated. Also, modifying the AIR file requires you to download software, such as AirEd. I am not the best at telling you how to modify these files to get the aircraft to perform as you wish. Maybe someone else can help out?To change the fuel menu to Kilograms, go into the main menu bar. Somewhere in there (under preferences or settings), there should be International Settings, where you can change the units.Hope this helps.-twilky

>Also when loading the Fuel from the Fuel menu can I change >it to Kilograms instead of pounds ?? I don't seem to be able >to. Options/Settings/International and select Metric(Altimeter metres). If you don't want your altimeter in metres, change it back to feet after you have finished using the fuel in kg information. If you only select the (Altimeter feet) option, the fuel remains shown in pounds.
