Great news, thanks.

CJ2 on Windows 10 anyone?
Carenado don't list Windows 10 as a compatible operating system for the CJ2. Has anyone successfully run the CJ2 with Win 10? My next PC will be Win 10 as the likely supplier, one of the 2 UK builders specialising in flightsim PCs, says it is becoming almost impossible to get Win 7 and so no longer offers it as an option. I'm attracted by the CJ2 as it looks nice (aaaah!) and there have been far fewer negative comments about it here than on some other recent Carenado bizjets, so I guess they got a lot of things right this time. (Put me right if that is incorrect!). Bryn

Any limit to number of monitors with 2 video cards?
brynjames replied to brynjames's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcI thought it was not possible to attach more than one TH2GO units to one graphic card. If that is possible, I could get up to 24 monitors (just joking!). Maybe I am remembering an earlier restriction which no longer applies. Bryn

Any limit to number of monitors with 2 video cards?
brynjames replied to brynjames's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcNo comments? I'd appreciate some advice before I make an expensive mistake on an upcoming order! Bryn

Any limit to number of monitors with 2 video cards?
Modern high end video cards often have 4 video outputs (although annoyingly of up to 4 different standards!). If a second similar (or at least not mutually hostile) video card is added would that allow, in theory, up to 8 monitors to be connected? Assume Windows 10 and NVidia cards. Yes, I do know that multiple windows have a way of killing flightsim frame rates, but I'd like to know if there are any fundamental hardware/software limitations. Many thanks Bryn

New monitor: LG 55UF680V UHD or Samsung UE55ju6445
brynjames replied to ErichB's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcErich, it would be great if you could post a photo showing how you are sitting relative to the wonderful giant screen! I find it difficult to imagine what the overall effect must be like. Bryn

Saitek Supply Problems
There have been a number of posts here over the past few months concerning the mysterious widespread unavailability of the popular Saitek Throttle Quadrants. Maybe this is explained by the problems apparently being faced by its parent company Mad Catz which just announced disappointing results. A staff reduction of 37% is forecast, and the CEO and a senior VP have already left. Hang on to your Saitek products guys! Bryn

Captain Sim Sale!
Interesting Have you ever made a profile for an aircraft? If so, I'd appreciate some tips. I did look at the tool some time ago and decided it looked too difficult! I'd be happy to be persuaded otherwise. Perhaps someone here has already done it? Bryn

Failing PC advice please!
brynjames replied to brynjames's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcThanks for all your help here. Unfortunately the PC continues to prove to be unreliable, and without all the disks necessary to put it back in first rate condition he is going to return it and wait for something better!

Captain Sim Sale!
An outside chance, but do any of their Boeings fully integrate with the GoFlight MCP Pro? The old FeelThere 737 used to and was a joy to fly as a result. And while I'm dreaming, I suppose they don't work with the OpenCockpits MCP either??

Failing PC advice please!
brynjames replied to brynjames's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcWe have now run Crystal Disk Info, and it shows the disk condition as "Caution" which fits in with your suspicion about the state of the HD. We could, I suppose, clone the entire HD onto a new one. Would Windows would demand its activation code when we started it from the new HD? That activation code is something, along with original Windows disks, that we don't have!

Failing PC advice please!
brynjames replied to brynjames's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcThanks Martin. System is anti-virus scanned regularly. Unfortunately no System Restore Points had been created. After the last crash, scan disk was run again, and this time instead of freezing at a certain point as it usually does, it just paused for a long time at that point and then completed successfully while reporting no errors! I just don't understand computers We'll try Crystal Disc info, thanks for that suggestion.

Failing PC advice please!
An acquaintance of very limited funds is being given the opportunity to buy an upgrading friend's 3 year old self-built Windows 7 PC for a good price. The PC ran well for a couple of weeks, but then started to crash at random times, and checkdisk, scan disk or defrag operations all fail to complete and cause a crash. There are no Windows disks or recovery disks. Apparently the friend had a computer shop install Windows 7 for him directly on the hard disk and no DVDs were provided. There is a 36GB partition on the HD called "System Reserved" - not sure what is on it. Any suggestions on how to proceed? Can we somehow get the OS transferred to a new HD, as it looks as if the HD may be failing. And if the OS itself has been corrupted is there any way to repair it? Funds don't exist to buy a new HD and OS together, and anyway, there are no motherboard driver disks available either! Coming round to the feeling that this is one bargain to walk away from

Recommendation of Throttle Quadrant
Sorry, off topic, but where did you get a new Saitek throttle quadrant a few weeks ago? They have been showing as out of stock for months on all the online retailers I have checked!

New user - where to go to see P3D at its best?
I'm about to try the Developer Edition for one month, to decide whether to switch. I'll have only limited time, so where should I fly to best appreciate the improvements LM have made to good old FSX? I don't have any add-on airports or weather programs. Thanks for any advice. Bryn

How to replace a power supply?
brynjames replied to threexgreen's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcBe very careful to ensure the new power supply has all the connectors available for the components you have to feed. Different PSUs come with varying numbers of different connectors. Bryn

S550 Yes or NO
Maybe you should start again: just received the latest PC Pilot which has a very critical review of this aircraft ("A beautiful model with deep systems inaccuracies"), written by Chris Frishmuth who has several thousand hours in Citations. Bryn

Carenado Citation II S550 at Palm Springs
Thanks Rob, that is great detail. From the above, I guess you did in fact upgrade to the MCP-Pro. It's a nice piece of kit. It kept me flying the rather unpopular Feel There 737 for some years as one of the few aircraft with built-in support for it. Agree absolutely with your comments about poor software upgrade support from GF for new aircraft. I think they are really missing significant sales here. Bryn

Faster ATC Speech
Thanks for the replies. I used EditVoicePack long ago, but at that time faster speech wasn't one of the options. Good to see it is included in the new payware version. Was faster speech included in the last freeware version? Bryn

Carenado Citation II S550 at Palm Springs
How did the GoFlight activity go in the end Rob? On one of your youtube videos of "the office" I see you had the earlier MCP panel. Did you ever upgrade to the MCP-Pro? Would your GoFlight files also work with FSX or would that require a completely different set of interface parameters? Sorry for all the questions, but what you are doing is very valuable for the community. Many thanks. Bryn

Faster ATC Speech
Is there any add-on which speeds up Microsoft FSX ATC speech? Some time ago I heard a youtube video that definitely sounded like standard FSX ATC, but with a much faster delivery, and shorter pauses. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find it again. I'm pretty sure it was not one of the current stand-alone ATC programs like Pro ATC or Radar Contact. Any ideas what it might have been? Bryn

Carenado Citation II S550 at Palm Springs
I've seen your youtube video of the amazing job you did interfacing GoFlight gear to your aircraft. Have you been able to do anything similar with the Citation yet? Bryn

Just Flight/Commercial Level Simulation 747-200, how realistic?
This aircraft is on special offer this weekend over at Just Flight. About £10 for the aircraft complete or £5 for the high definition textures if you already have the existing version. It may not be PMDG but it is the best 747-200 available for FSX at present. Just enjoy it, and ignore the imperfections! After all, this is supposed to be fun Bryn
