Problem taxiing

Featured Replies

Hi you all!I've got a sefere problem taxiing with the PIC.Getting the plane to move takes about 52% of power and after already taxiing atrulebraking speed I'm not able to make a halfturn and staiten out.The plane continuise to move in circles without me being able to to change direction.Even if I stop completly after getting the plane to move again it keeps on movingin the same circle.I'm using Fs2002, Lago Eham, the last time I used a different Airport more framerate friendlybut still the same problem.I'm using also the Active sky the new version and FSscene for Europe.Beside this I got amassive AI traffic populating the airports and sky.All this together gets me about 4,5 frames being on the ground. My system is a 1.6 Ghz with a Matrox 32MB. card.Microsoft force feedback2 joystick.Sounds familiar to anybody? Please solve my problem before I get grounded for driving under influence..Thank you all..Regards and take care,Carel van Gent

The 52% N1 on the break-away thrust is normal. The taxi RPMs are high in PIC - but this was an intentional tradeoff and was necessary to create a highly accurate fuel burn at cruise altitude. The moving in circles sounds like a calibration issue on your rudder axis and is not normal. Try recalibrating your joystick with FSUIPC. I assume here you are using the standard PIC airfile and aircraft.cfg and not a third party FDE.BTW, I experienced a similar problem in the PSS Airbus where my aircraft would always pull to the left. In slew mode, I would spin in circles. No matter how often I calibrated the joystick, it would become "off center" again on its own accord. I later discovered that installing DX9 had mucked things up. I completely uninstalled my joystick and reinstalled it again, allowing DX9 to detect and configure it properly. Never had a problem since. You might try the same.J

Hi,You could also be having a problem with rudder spikes,if you have the latest version of fsuipc make sure the check box "eliminate rudder spikes" is ticked, also you can reduce the sensitivity of the joystick in FS2k2 to help prevent the problem. Can't comment on the directx 9 issue.Cheers,ChrisBAW976www.bavirtual.co.uk

you have to make sure you have at least 8 fps...i've had exactly the same thing...i upgraded to a geforce2 mx400 pci 64mb and that kind of cured it for me..when you have low frame rates <7fps,the control inputs are delayed, thereby causing the plane to spin around...if you leave the stick for a minute,it'll straighten out..but uhm...you'll be in a field,or a building or uhm...well fill in yourself... :-)i'm running a p3 500,geforce 2mx400 64mb,256mb ram,20gb hdd...i always have to watch ai traffic, they eat my frames :-).i used to fly with a 4mb ati card,i had the same prob as you.try keeping the frames above 8,then you should be fine.if not....well...i don't know EVERYTHING :-)succes
