February 5, 200323 yr Hey everyoneI am having trouble keeping the airplane going straight down the runway on takeoff. It pulls to the right everytime, so I have to apply left rudder continuously. I have the same problem after disconnecting the autopilot for landing. The problem is NOT evident on straight and level flight w/o autopilot.... I have checked the rudder trim (for takeoff). I have set FSIUPC. I have tried two different joysticks. No luck. I have the same problem with the POSKY 767, but only when using the PIC panel. I don't have this problem with any of my other airplanes. What am I missing???PS. I have been using MSFS forever, so I am getting really frustrated because I can't find the source of the problem. HELP!!
February 6, 200323 yr I have seen 2 problems that can cause this. The number 1 cause is rudder spiking which you correct in FSIUPC under the technical tab. Number two is a strong wind. Of course a blown tire will cause this also but I doubt that this is your problem here.Best Wishes,Randy J. February 6, 200323 yr I too have this problem - even if I use the NPR auto takeoff roll.Rudder spike is checked on FSUIPC and the problem is intermittent. You are not alone!I take it you are usining XP and FS2002 as I never had this problem with 2000 on Win 98Steve
February 6, 200323 yr The same here. I have the latest FSUIPC but even the option "Stop cockpit sizing and moving" doesn
February 6, 200323 yr I have Windows XP Pro and have no problems with this although I use to at one point. Best Wishes,Randy J. [email protected]" A little learning is a dangerous thing"AMD XP2100 |MUNCHKIN512 DDR RAM |ECS[/b ]K7S5A MB |[b]GF364 MEG |WIN XP PRO Randy J Smith
February 6, 200323 yr I too am haveing the same problems, but I pull to the left down the runway. Have no idea why.Brian
February 6, 200323 yr Hi,Check that:1. no rudder trim applied2. if rudder trim found, what's causing it (a common problem is to associate some yoke function in FSUIPC, eg. PTT button, acting also to some FS internal function, ie. rudder trim --> I had this once)3. spike elimination in ON4. rudder calibration is OK (both in Windows and in FSUIPC)5. Your controls are centered on Secondary EICAS display in PIC7676. no excessive crosswind present7. BOTH engines are running! if only one, it pulls to the dead engine side8. if BOTH engines are running, chech that POWER CHANGES APPLY for BOTH enginesThat's all I can think of at the moment. Will let you know if something else comes to mind.rgdsTero PPL(A)
February 6, 200323 yr Thanks Murf - that one has been a pain since I upgraded.Just never enough of a pain for me to do anything about it .Ian Elchitz CYWG
February 6, 200323 yr try to keep your nose wheel in contact with the runway by forword pressure on your joystick. you could be getting lift to soon this will make the nose wheel steering us.
