Is the FFB2 stick supposed to "center" ?

Featured Replies

I installed an MS FFB2 stick last week. It works great but I don't think it centers. Sometimes it kinda does, like when I am in a dive (flying military a/c) and I pull back and then there is a "kick" within the stick. Sometimes it "kicks" to straighten out during a turn when on AP with a commercial a/c. The kicking seems to be related to trim although I have not figured it out quite yet. The kicking is the closest I feel to some sort of pressure pushing the stick toward center, but that's it.The stick works in all axes and everything seems fine. I am just disconcerted by the lack of centering and not knowing when the stick will kick back.Any advice or views on this centering or lack thereof welcome, thanks!JS

No, unless you program it to do so.

Gabriel,There doesn't appear to be any guide for programming the joystick in the MS software. Can you explain how to program it for centering or suggest a link for that purpose? Thanks,Joe FosterA cockpit crew mate of Jonathan Sacks, the owner of the joystick in question.

Sure, let me get home, and I'll Post from there

Gabriel,Thanks.

Hi,You cannot influence centering forces from within FS2K2.But, if you look in your Windows joystick calibration for your stick, I'm sure there is an option somewhere like "enable centering spring in ForceFeedback games".You must set that option. (I have the same with my Logitech FF stick).Rob

Rob,Thanks, I'll pass the information along to Jonathan.Joe
