Eric,TCAS is progressing.Still some issues to sort through with blending etc.Mark

Not to mention the real work I'm doing on new, improved internal TCAS logic. I'm weeding through a 756-page document describing the actual TCAS II v7.0 internal logic, including all the equations and state machine transitions. We'll see how much of this I can squeeze into the gauge. You might be surprised. ;-)My alpha testers have not seen this new logic yet. In fact, I'm currently developing it outside of FS so I can simulate various multi-aircraft encounter geometries to really push the threat detection and collision avoidance logic. At this stage it is hard to tell if it will be too complex to get running reliably or if it will be too computationally demanding for use within FS, but I am hopeful. Let's see...I'm currently using 163 actual TCAS system parameters, and I've only scratched the surface of the collision avoidance (RA vertical rate command) logic to this stage.Lee Hetherington (KBED)

Lee,when do you think we will be able to use version 1.0 of your outstanding TCAS? Do you think you could release a "basic version" first even if it does not contain all of the features you are able to implement? Thus, we would quickly get used to the new instrument and still be looking forward to your further development and refinement :+.Please don

I second Michael on that, I would really like to see a very light version with only signaletic ;)What do you think lee ?Regards,Guillaume

All good things come to those who wait.....But for those who make us wait? Pain lots of Soprano-esque pain.....Ya hear that Lee - we are comign for you Richard GreenVATSIM Controller - former AF DRIVER and all around nice guy http://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg

I'll consider it. My current work is taking longer than I had hoped, so maybe it does make sense to release what I have. However, I do need to get to the bottom of the blending problem, and that is something I have grown to really hate, primarily because I cannot reproduce it myself on three different systems.Lee Hetherington (KBED)

Greener! You are still alive! Nice to see your name pop up on the forum (even if gd thinks you are a hack!).I suppose now that you are retired from HQ you will have more time to fly around in your PIC, at least until crunch time for the big day comes.Nice to see you around again.Ian Elchitz/CYWG ACA301
