March 31, 200323 yr Greetings 767 lovers...The subject has not only to do with the PIC767 but actually all the aircraft out there for FS2000/FS2002 (as far as I know). It has to do with the syncronization of leading edge(LE) slats/flaps and trailing edge(TE) flaps. As far as I know the LE slats/flaps are the last be retracted and the first to be extended.Well, this is not the case in ANY of the aircraft I have in FS. Say that you have just vacated the rwy on your arrival and you are commanding flaps-up. Watch the a/c from the outside and see the retraction sequence. You will notice that the LE Slats/Flaps are immediately retracted while the TE flaps are still in transit and around position 20.Shouldn't the flaps first retract fully or be at least around position 1 or 5 before the LE slats/flaps are starting to move for retraction?I don't know if the problem is only a visual error or if it may affect flight dynamics. Anyway it bothers me. And it exists in every a/c!Anyone else noticed this ?It's little things like this that make an aircraft amazing or not. For me it means attention to detail.George DorkofikisAthens, Greece
March 31, 200323 yr I have not checked any other aircraft other than PIC and Posky. And I was looking at the extension not retraction of the flaps/slats. The Posky models do not extend the flaps correctly while the default aircraft extends them in the right order. Setting flaps 1 should only have the LE/SLATS extend but the Poskys have the TE/FLAPS move down a notch also which is wrong. Best Wishes, Randy J. March 31, 200323 yr Randy,I tried the following:copied the Flaps Setting info from the Wilco Aircraft Cfg to the Posky Merged Aircraft Cfg.TE Flaps moved in the correct sequence.LE Slats did not move.could this be a problem with the models animation.Mark
March 31, 200323 yr Very well could be Mark. I really don't think it effects anything at all. Just thought some would want to know. I rarely go to spot view anyways unless I am taking a screenshot.Best Wishes, Randy J. April 1, 200323 yr Hi Mark, just copy over the slats section from the POSKY aircraft.cfg, and change the lift/drag scalars to zero - the slats will now animate correctly without affecting the flight dynamics.Cheers,Gosta.http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg
April 1, 200323 yr The problem is not POSKY alone... This issue exists in all the aircraft I've seen and definately has to do with the build-in aircraft animation and not the aircraft.cfg.It's not a big deal, it just tells me when someone has done his homework. Sometimes I put on the instant replay and watch my landing from the tower or from spot plane. The correct retraction adds to the realism. I think I should post this over to the aircraft builder forum... Maybe they haven't thought of that yet!George
April 1, 200323 yr Gosta, the problem is to do with the animation of the model. When you select Flaps 1, the Slats (LE Flaps) are all that should move. With the Posky model the Flaps (TE Flaps) move to the flaps 5 setting.Mark
