June 11, 200322 yr Two questions or problems I've got.DL'd the TCAS gauge from AVSIM here, I've heard it works pretty well. I followed the instructions but I get no gauge. The gauge was extracted to the Gauges file, the panel.cfg line was entered in, and the hydraulics are working. Any idea on why I'm not getting any gauge at all showing up, it's just a black screen?Second, keysend using either wideserver or FSUIPC. I'm running RW on my second computer and I'd like to use the Mic button on my Suncom throttle to transmit. Is this possible over WideFS? It's a bummer having to hit the 'tab' key on the second computer keyboard while handflying the final. Thanks,Lobaeux
June 11, 200322 yr When you say "no gauge at all" do you mean you don't even see the gauge border or nothing on the gauge's display? All your electrics on? Try loading the default C172 at Meigs flight, make sure everything is on, and then switch aircraft to PIC. Does it work now?One of these days I'll make an option for my gauge to make it always on for people who have these difficulties.Lee Hetherington (KBED)http://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg
June 11, 200322 yr The other part of your question (push to talk) can be answered by visiting Nico's website. http://www.nicokaan.nl/He describes the process and has a screenshot I believe. Many of us use the same or similar method to do this over WideFS.MikeB
June 11, 200322 yr I should've been more accurate in my description. I get the border of the gauge, I can even float the hand over the click spots. I've got everything set up in the overhead panel, hydraulics, electrics, APU is off and such, but nothing inside of the gauge panel itself. A black hole is all. I'll check again, see if I messed around with the electrics in the aircraft.cfg and all.
June 11, 200322 yr I checked out his website, and still don't get it. If I asign a keystroke in FSUIPC, a number by his example, is that the keystroke I use for the transmit button when setting up RW? For example I put a keystroke of 8, then I put 8 in for transmit in the RW setup. Is this how it works? And why does he have a '1' and then a '2' is this because he is using a rocker switch, '1' to transmit, and then '2' to stop the transmit? This would make things so much better.
June 12, 200322 yr You need hydraulics to run it. Try loading the saved panel settings in the PIC menu. Select '767 PIC Take Off' - this will have you ready for departure with all systems running and your TCAS should be visible.
June 12, 200322 yr The way I do it, and this is from memory as I'm not in front of my FS PC.In FSUIPC open the 'Buttons' tab.Press the button on your yoke/stick you want to use as the RW PTT.On the right hand side window of the 'Buttons' page tick 'command to use' (or something similar)You should then get a drop-down list, of FS commands you can use for that button push.Select 'keysend (1-255)' for both the press and release commands. In the parameter boxes enter '1' for the press command and '2' for the release command.Press OK to exit FSUIPCOpen 'wideclient.ini' on your client PC and under the user section enter.ActionKeys=YesKeySend1=RWonKeySend2=RWoffSave the file. That's it. When you press the button RW should go into transmit mode and when you release the button it should drop transmit mode.Make sure no FS action is assigned to the PTT button you are using, and read the FSUIPC & WideFS docs to clarify any slight mistakes I may have made in the name of tick boxes and/or wideclient.ini file entries.HTH
June 12, 200322 yr Lobaeux,I get the same symptom. Have the gauge but it's black (actually sometimes it will blink on and off, but mostly black). As soon as I am wheels up, it comes alive and works flawlessly. As soon as the wheels touch on landing, it goes black. You might trying flying and see if it comes on for you.Cheers.
June 13, 200322 yr It started working last night. Don't know why, but it's a terrific gauge, worked flawlessly.Okay, thanks for the clarification on getting RW to work. I wanted t run the switch off of my Suncom throttle, but the mic button isn't being recognised by FSUIPC so I'll have to figure out a different button to use. Thanks guys!
