HELP...767 PIC error message

Featured Replies

Hey all.......can someone help me? I get the following message when I fire up 767PIC......it comes up just when I have selected the 767 aircraft after the "Flying tips" see through page has come up. I click CANCEL or try to get out of it and I get a windows box come up saying " Error while registering control accelerators. Language rescources may be corrupted"I can't seem to make it go away. I have all the new patches, I have even reloaded 767PIC for FS2002, and used the "767 cleaner" Can anyone help me? :-zhelp :-zhelp :-zhelp MARTIN

Hi Martin,>I have all the new patches< What do you mean by 'all the patches'? You only need one for FS2002, unless you're running some third-party hardware. Also, you may want to disble the tips at startup. Go into your main FS folder, there will be a file called 'B767W.ini'. Open it in notepad, look for the line 'TIP_AT_STARTUP=1' and edit it to read 'TIP_AT_STARTUP=0'.Cheers,Gosta.http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg

In addition to Gosta's advice.....please note that you do not need "all the new patches" for 767 PIC to work with FS2002, just this one: ftp://ftp.wilcopub.com/767PilotinCommandPatchFS2002.exe.So uninstall what you currently have then run the install CD and the patch linked above and see if that clears up your problem. Then turn off the tooltips.

Thanks for the advise guys.............but I have tried all these things. I uninstalled the 767program and then cleaned the computer with the 767 cleaner, reinstalled the 767 PIC with the FS2002 patch and it STILL comes up the same. If I quickly use another plane before the "Quick tips" page pops up the simulator works fine, then, even if I go to the PIC toolbar and go to preferences and uncheck the tool tips box, FS2002 crashes the error report says it is due to the "APS.dll"....which is part of 767 PIC. I am totally at a loss. I see last year someone else had the exact same problem but no-one replied to him. I have E-mailed Wilco and am waiting for a reply. By the way I am using windows XP. Anymore ideas? Martin

Martin:I must be getting senile in my older years but what exactly is the "767 Cleaner" and where did you get it?

It's a *Install Cleaner* on their web site. Handy little tool really when re-installing etc....[h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smith[/h5][h6]Are You Ready For The Next Great one?
