Flying withOUT the autopilot.....

Featured Replies

Hey,I just did a CYUL-CYYZ flight with the 767 PIC and i'll tell you there's nothing more satisfying than doing the whole takeoff/climb without the autopilot!! (I've been doing it with the autopilot for the past 2 years!! :-hah ) And I did it almost as well as the autopilot!! From now on I don't think i'll be using the autopilot, unless I run into some heavy weather. I have one question though, is there any better 767 sound packages out there that are better or are the sounds that come with PIC still the best?

Alex,I think you can find replacement sound packages here in the AVSIM file library. If you have trouble finding what your looking for, send me an email and perhaps I can help you out.

Hi,May I pls know where to get those reverse thrust sounds? Thank you.Russell J. :-rotor :-beerchug :-rotor

For the replacment Thrust reversers sound you need to get "PICREVPJ.ZIP" by Peter James. I'm not sure its available on AVSIM but its definitely over at AllNodesAreCurrentlyBusy.comAs a additional tip, I suggest you go to your sound configuration file 767 PIC Wilco Publishing folder and and remove the semicolons that precede three of the sound files. For some reason some sound files were disabled but removing the semicolons will enable them and give you a bit better sound.Backup your original sound config file first. For example:;filename=wp767h <----- Remove this semicolonflags=0viewpoint=1rparams=0.0,1.0vparams=0.0,100.0link=JET_WHINE.1.02

It feels pretty to hand fly her doesn't it? :) I usually take her up by hand to FL180 before hitting that AP... or something even the cruise level if the weather is really good ;)
