July 3, 200322 yr Moderator Hi all,I'm posting this here as I feel it's the best place to speak to anyone who has the Aerosoft 747MCP, 767PIC and perhaps has just bought the PMDG737.In short I can't get the MCP to communicate to the 767. It works okay with default FS2002 aircraft but won't work at all with the 767PIC. The hardware has worked perfectly for the last 7 months but since installing the PMDG737 it won't talk to the 767PIC. Could be a coincidence but I thought I'd make some enquiries first.I've posted a message to Andrew Mclean at Aerosoft but wanted to ask here as I know there is a fair chance someone else might have the same kit.Thanks. July 3, 200322 yr Author Moderator Hi all,I've discovered what's causing the problem. PMDG have installed a DLL in the MODULES folder which is causing a conflict. I've posted a message on their forum. In the meantime if any of you have the MCP747 and are contemplating buying the PMDG737 you should be aware of this problem. I moved the DLL to another folder and the problem resolved itself but obviously I can't do that everytime I want to fly!Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). July 4, 200322 yr Hi Ray,Thanks for this information. Using the MCP since a month :) I will wait awhile for Andrew and/or the guys from PMDG to come up with a solution. Thanks again.Cheers,EHAM8 :-wave
July 7, 200322 yr Ray, I can confirm same problem; have to remove the PMDG .dll file from the the FS Modules folder or the AERO MCP747 won't correctly send inputs to the PIC panel anymore. Good catch on your part. Since I've heard from PMDG that Andrew is working on linking the MCP to the 737NG, I'm sure when this is done the PIC conflict will be sorted out...regards,
July 7, 200322 yr Author Moderator Hi Chris,Thanks. I've just checked the forum on Aerosoft and it's rather depressing to see that Andrew still hasn't replied to the message I posted last Thursday. I was mightily relieved that moving that DLL resolved the problem with the 767PIC. As you can imagine I didn't fancy shipping the unit 12,000 miles back to Oz! But when it worked with the default aircraft I figured it had to be something unusual and after a bit of logical thinking the DLL was the obvious culprit.Fingers crossed Lefteris and Andrew get together soon :-)Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). July 8, 200322 yr Hi,THANKS A LOT for the insight...I think I'll have to remove that .dll file as well !just for info I recently had a problem with the software of my MCP and I e-mailed Andrew and I will give Aerosoft and Andrew a 10 out of 10 as far as support goes...My problem was quickly and professionaly solved.I believe Andrew has quite a bit on his plate at the moment with the EFIS/EICAS modules and so he might not get into the forum as much as he would like but I definitely would contact him by ways of the support link for any type of problem...Certainly my experiences with Aerosoft have all been thumbs up !!Happy landings
July 8, 200322 yr Author Moderator Hi Rhys,Thanks for that info. Andrew still hasn't answered the forum message so I will write to him at the support address.Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England).
