July 9, 200322 yr I just installed Randy Smith's landing view and is it nice. The taxi light is a nice addition too. I am new to this forum and just installed B767 PIC a couple of weeks ago. I was very lucky to find a copy online as it is out of production. Here's the link to the Avsim download sight. This is for anyone who doesn't already know about the landing view.http://library.avsim.net/search.php?Search...mith&CatID=Root
July 9, 200322 yr Welcome to 767 PIC! You will love it...:DI recommend downloading a couple of other updates for 767 PIC. Go to www.navdata.at and get the latest 767 PIC AIRAC(you will need to register) Also, grab the 767 PIC SID/STAR database too. Then get 'Sid star copier' from the library(I will look for the link in a min). That way you can speed up 767 PIC FMC load times, very useful :)Also, get Lee H's TCAS(http://forums.avsim.com/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=137&topic_id=18037&mesg_id=18037&page=)But wait for the next version, he said 'by this weekend'...I can't wait!
July 9, 200322 yr Forgot to mention some thingsThe link for SId/STAR copier is:http://library.avsim.net/sendfile.php?DLID=19792Go to this link and look around, you will find some neat goodies for 767 PIC(the most notable being the POSKY 763 merge, a must have)http://www.czeg.org/pic767fc.htm
July 9, 200322 yr I have Philip A. Geddes's VFR panels, I think they are better, but it's up to you...It's just that pilots are not glued to the MCP of the panel...Philip A. Geddes's panels are a normal landing view for 67' pilots and the second one looks like the front camera used in ITVV's cockpit vids...The cool part is that, he has made the screens undockable so that in VFR you can see the PFD and nearby gauges that are working and also add the other gauges like V-speed and so on...It's a special time you have ahead of you!You can look forward to hard work, but in the end you will have experience of an airline captain!Good luck and enjoy!Boaz...
July 10, 200322 yr Hi there,Could you please post the link from where I can get Philip A. Geddes's VFR panels. Thanks,Fido --------------------------------------Cheers,
July 10, 200322 yr http://library.avsim.net/search.php?Search...=Root&Go=SearchThis is the link to the sight for Geddes's VFR, Landing View, panel. I installed it yesterday and it works great. Do the auto install, it works without any problems. The install instructions are very easy to follow. I installed the American Panel because it has the RA Tape gauge like on the original B767 PIC panel.Update your FMS data base here.http://www.navdata.at/Register under User Accounts. If you need help in updating your FMS I or someone else on this forum can help. All files have to go into the FS2002FMCWPnavdata folder. Just unzip the file into a temporary folder and cut and paste the contents of the APPROACH, SID and STAR files into their folders, which are in the navdata folder. If you need flight plans check this out.http://www.fly.faa.gov/flyFAA/Products/Cod...s_database.htmlLet's hope that someone comes through with a patch for FS2004. I agree with everyone on this forum that I would be willing to pay for it, no questions asked. This is the best flight sim there is, hands down, and as far as the B737, forget it, I'll take the B767 any day. Sure wish that they would make the panel and FMS work for a B757! That would be great. It seems just a little tweaking of the FMS is all that would be needed.Happy flying,Ed Grabel
