September 18, 200322 yr Hi,My F/D doesn't follow v2+20 after T/O. Here is how am I doing may you can tell me what is wrong.- FMC Setup complete, no rte discontinues.- FMC init ref and T/O pages complete, speed bugs set via hidden click spot- MCP speed window is showing V2, alt window to init alt. - Flaps set, autobrake RTO, trim set.- F/D on then,- A/T on (after engine start, while taxying)- Set %70N1 then hit N1, rotate, gear up, pitching up to about 15 nose up. but no F/D V2+20 command..Am I missing something?
September 18, 200322 yr i always set my MCP speed to V2+15seems to do the job quite wellmy guess is the FD is showing you commands for a V2 speed climb...Greetz
September 18, 200322 yr Author No, it sticks to about 7 or 8 NU att. Problem is F/D doesn't give any pitch command at all until A/P engaged. :(
September 18, 200322 yr Bozhan,I have noticed the very same behaviour of F/D during takeoff and initial climb. It is sometimes erratic. For example, it doesn't command nose down at acceleration height, BUT if I start to lower the nose myself, the F/D will follow. It isn't quite right.Tero PPL(A)
September 19, 200322 yr "My F/D doesn't follow v2+20 after T/O. Here is how am I doing may you can tell me what is wrong."Er... Is it supposed to, Bozhan?According to my notes, it's supposed to indicate V2+15 (V2+20 on a 737, V2+10 on a 747-400, V2+? on a 777, etc...). Unless, that is, the speed at rotation was greater than V2+15... or you've lost an engine, perhaps? "V2" comes from the MCP airspeed window setting. Selecting V2+15 in the MCP window will make the FD pitch bar aim for V2+15+15 = V2+30. This may give a too low climb rate.Hope this helps.Cheers.Ian.
September 19, 200322 yr Author Thanks to everybody for help.Ian yes I was wrong about V2+20 but it's not the case.I hope a fresh install will solve myths..
