October 18, 200322 yr Commercial Member Hello All-I've purchased the PIC767 a few months ago and have successfully got it working in FS2002 Pro. However, I've always had a problem that has been bugging me and preventing me from flying the 767 (actually they seem to be two seperate problems). First of all, whenever I load the 767 into FS it will always freeze every 10 seconds for a duration of 5 seconds (you can almost always time it and predict when it will temporarily freeze next). As you can probably tell, this is a huge problem when I try to taxi, takeoff, or land the aircraft. I'm using a Pentium III 500 mhz computer with a GeForce 4 video card and my FS2002 is on the lowest settings (including the 767 panel refresh rate) while I still get this problem, my other aircraft have worked fine so I've determined it's most likely a problem with the PIC767 itself. Secondly, whenever I apply full elevator (for example, on a short field takeoff), full aileron, or full rudder, the control surfaces freeze making my 767 do a barell roll(or pitch straight up/down), causing a crash.Unfortunately, it seems not many have experienced this type of problem (and those who have, were unable to fix it, nor get a response from any kind of tech support). If anyone has ANY idea about how either of these problems could be fixed, any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED. Thank you very much in advance! October 18, 200322 yr If you are using the model that came along with PIC, then that could be your problem as the model was created for FS2000 and is very hard on frame rates. You may want to try using either the Posky 763 or IFDG 763 model, both models were created in GMAX and are frame rate friendly. There are currently merge files available for both aircraft that use PIC's FDE, so you get pure PIC flight dynamics.Your control surface issue could be that you haven't got the control spike elimination boxes checked in your modules tab (Modules, FSUIPC, Technical tab, control spike elimination...check the elevator, aileron and rudder boxes.Visit the link below and click on the download tab. there you will see the available merge files amongst other goodies.http://www.pic767flyingclub.com/Regards,Van LatendresseYeoDesigns/AFG GroupPanel/FDE Designer
October 18, 200322 yr Does 500Mhz even match the minimum config MS suggests for 2k2? Either way, I noticed that when I updated my GeForce card drivers a few months ago that I had a lot of frame rate issues in FS...try rolling back the drivers, see what it does.

October 18, 200322 yr Author Commercial Member Well that seems to have fixed my control surface problems at least, thank you very much sir. Currently I use the POSKY Hawaiian 763, Delta 764, and United 763, all seem to run fine with any other panel but freeze with the PIC767 panel. Also, rolling back my video card drivers has had no effect. Thanks again,http://members.aol.com/Av8rkw/Oshkosh/Forumavatar.gif Kyle Weber (Private Pilot, ASEL; Flight Test Engineer)Check out my repaints and downloads, all right here on AVSIM
October 18, 200322 yr Author Commercial Member Also, I've re-merged (for lack of a better word) the POSKY model with the PIC767 panel and still get the same freezing issues, unfortunately. October 18, 200322 yr how many ram does your computer have?and what resolution do you use?i myself have flown pic for years on a p3 500,with 256mb of ram and a 4mb ati 3drage pro onboard videocard,in fs2k...even flew online with that combo:really cool ;-)i never had those pauses, and i ran fs2k2 on it after i "upgraded" to a geforce2 mx400 with 64mb with mesh at 50,all textures at full, and autogen at sparse:had consistent 20fps with it.i must say i ran on win98se,and applied various tweaks to make it work even better.even so i'm happy with my AMD 1800 now....but sometimes i long for my trusty old dell...this AMD thingy has a lot more lockups and more of that stuff :-(
October 19, 200322 yr Hi,try it on startup with one of the default flights coming with 767 PIC like "767 PIC After landing" and so on. Then change to the flight you want to do.Maybe this helps.Cheers and happy landingsHans van Leusen
October 19, 200322 yr Author Commercial Member Unfortunately, that did not seem to do anything. (I run 256 mb RAM with 1280 x 1024 resolution).http://members.aol.com/Av8rkw/Oshkosh/Forumavatar.gif Kyle Weber (Private Pilot, ASEL; Flight Test Engineer)Check out my repaints and downloads, all right here on AVSIM
October 23, 200322 yr Are you using Pete Dowsons autosave utility? I found this caused a momentary pause each time it saved, if so try changing the settings in the autosave cfg file.
October 23, 200322 yr Author Commercial Member No, I am not using that utility. Edited October 8, 20205 yr by CaptKornDog Kyle Weber (Private Pilot, ASEL; Flight Test Engineer)Check out my repaints and downloads, all right here on AVSIM
October 24, 200322 yr hi,just a long shot,but...i ran in 1280x1024x32 as well, and found out that it is actually better to run in 1280x960x32,it is easier on frames, while the image stays as clear....on my monitor it really made a difference, and i believe it did kill a lot of the stutters i was experiencing.also,if you are running win98se,try to set your virtual memory to 1500/1500,it also made quite a difference on my machine back then.succes,
October 24, 200322 yr Author Commercial Member I am running on 1280x1024 resoluation and seems to have no effect at all (I am also running Windows XP home edition).
