October 31, 200322 yr I haven't flown the 767 for a while while trying FS04 out. I wanted to go back to the 767 for awhile and upon loading FS02 and the 767, the engine rev/start sound was playing in an endless loop. It would rev up, fade out, and repeat constantly. Upon reloading it did the same thing. It seems I couldn't start the engines, instead the start sound kept repeating even after clicking on the fuel controls. Did I miss something? I know it's been awhile since I flew the 767. Thanks.
October 31, 200322 yr It will do this if your engines are not started, and you are trying to do something like start both engines at once, or not have both packs off for start. FS9 does this regularly with 767 PIC because it tries to start both engines at once, but it is easy to rectify.Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
November 1, 200322 yr Author Thanks Gary. I'll check those packs again. By the way, I am using FS02. I didn't know PIC worked in FS9. Regards, Tom
November 1, 200322 yr Tom,It can happen in FS02 as well, if you don't have your panel switches in the right place for engine start. Attached is a pic of PIC's default panel state in FS9, which causes the subject engine start sound looping because it is trying to start two engines at once with both packs on.PIC doesn't officially work in FS9, but some of us are using what are affectionately known as "Frankenstein variants", that undock the FMC, EADI/EHSI and EICAS panels and place them somewhere else. I use a two monitor setup to make this usable (bearable). There are other side effects from running PIC in FS9 too, like that the panel state will not save, hence you need to set everything up from scratch each time you reload your flight. November 2, 200322 yr Author Thanks Gary. Do you know how to start PIC in a "cold and dark" state? When I first got PIC I remember it had a ready to go and a shut down configuration to pick from. Once I upgraded to FS02 I didn't see these options anymore. Thanks, Tom
November 4, 200322 yr Tom,I must admit that I have sent FS2002 to the software graveyard, hence I cannot say with certainty what needs to be done to set up a "cold and dark" state in this FS version. I'm pretty sure that you can load one of the many cockpit configurations off the PIC menu, but it most likely will not be labelled "cold and dark". Just pick one of the options that sounds closest to an initial state eg. "before engine start" or something like that.Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
