Daryl, did you ever get that problem sorted, when accelerating thru 80knots towards v1 that MURF and his mates would start chasing you down the highway? ;) I think this was the last major bug you were having in the merge.Later

Thanks for the query, Mark. No, the PIC/Voyager merge is still in beta.Seems certain "car manufacturers" have a problem with my workaround to get the Voyager airborne. They are saying that they own the car, and that I have infringed on their "design". Wankers. The RR engines are performing beautifully, though. I can reach FL310 in 9 minutes. Unfortunately I run out of fuel in 12 minutes. So, I use the car engine for taxing and apu, etc., to give me a little more RANGE.I'm thinking of using the back of the van for fuel tanks, but then that cuts into pax legroom.Got any ideas? As you can see from the picture, I've cut down the wings (as they were scraping the ground) and shrunk the engines (amazing what Photoshop VtRL (Virtual to Real Life) can do, hunh?). I think I could jam some tanks in the back of the van without too much trouble. But, will the cg get pooched if I do that?http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/48430.jpgAs for MURF, he's only coming after me if I peddle those pornographic images of Rob in his thong taken at this year's CharityFlight.Daryl ShuttleworthDS 3339http://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg

Daryl, you need to get a second Voyager. Cut the centre section from this one. Cut the original in half. Weld the centre section to the two halfs of the original voyager. This will increase the length and increase the lateral stability.DO NOT PUT A FUEL TANK IN THE TAIL - This will result in a nasty tailscrape, every time.Build a false floor in the Voyager, and raise the pax cabin up a bit.Underneath this false floor install a new fuel tank.Contact Boeing at KBFI and ask about a bonnet mod to incorporate an air to air refuelling recepticle.Hope this helps.Later

Or maybe you should DUMP the voyager completely and try a HUMMER instead. I think the HUMMER is more suited to this. On the plus side, you would definitely have an immediate Defense contract with the US military (not to mention instant lawsuits from the makers of the HumVee).

As for MURF, he's only coming after me if I peddle those pornographic images of Rob in his thong taken at this year's CharityFlight.Actually I'm thinking of transferring to traffic in the new year. So keep the speed below 20kts in the taxi and below 250kts under 10,000.As for the pics of Rob in his thong, (shiver), I don't think there is a crime on the books which would provide suitable punishment for distributing that material. :-)

I appreciate all comments. 1. Mark - I have a 1990 Voyager that may come in handy with your suggestion. Just going to need some sharp tinsnips to shear the thing in half.2. LL - Yeah sorry: a Hummer is for woosies. Real men drive Voyagers.3. Murf - traffic division eh? Way to go old man! A promotion!4. Rob Hall: where are you?Daryl ShuttleworthDS 3339http://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg

3. Murf - traffic division eh? Way to go old man! A promotion! It would be a lateral move actually. I doubt they'll give it to me though, I'm not cranky enough. A few more years of marriage should do the trick though...

i wonder who'd get the furthest with the least fuel...heavyweight steel ;) or ultralight plastic :((steel is not really what they 'mostly' use in aviation, it's an alloy but don't ask me which ...)cheers

Hey.........An Airbus freak I'm not. I was simply comparing my wake turbulence to something big....I could have easily said the B744.But that's besides the point. Just keep your Barf Bag handy.....wouldn't want all that puke getting on that fancy little glareshield now would we? :-lol
