March 7, 200422 yr I know that most people are not bothered by this, but personally I do not get on with a landing panel, however skillfully made.I have problems with the sudden change of perspective.. (actually this is one of the reasons that I do not like the PMDG panels, it puts me all the time in a different position in front of the instruments). So when I use a landing panel, I somehow end up pitching up to much during final/flare.It took me a lot of experimenting before I found "panel.cfg" settings that give me a satisfactory vieuw on landing, using the normal panel (PIC/POSKY a/c). For anyone that has the same problem as I have and prefers to not use a landing panel, here are the settings that work best for me:VIEW_FORWARD_ZOOM=0.7VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=5.8, 0.0, 0.0Regards,
March 7, 200422 yr Jaaky,With a zoom factor of 0.7 you will see the scenery change a lot "faster" than what is perceived in real life. I have found that a zoom setting of 1.1-1.15 will give the absolute right "feel of speed" that is also present on a real 757 full flight simulator.Tero PPL(A)

March 8, 200422 yr OK so what is the correct zoom setting.I am usingVIEW_FORWARD_DIR=4.5VIEW_FORWARD_ZOOM=0.75How is this ?Nebojsa
March 8, 200422 yr Hi Nebosja,"Correct" is what YOU are comfortable with...I used VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=4.8 for a while, but found the runway thresshold on final approach too near the edge of the windscreen and finally discovered that, for me, landing at VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=6.0 is ideal. But it is allways a trade off, for example between view and the sensation of speed, as Tero remarked. Also, at a higher VIEW_FORWARD_DIR number it feels (to me) that the flightdeck is a bit too close to the runway for a Heavy aircraft, but within the limitations of a computer screen you can't have it all... :-roll
March 8, 200422 yr Where do you locate the VIEW_FORWARD_DIR line of code? Is it in the PIC767 merge CFG file?Regards,Jack
March 8, 200422 yr Hi Jack,......fs2002aircraft767 PIC Wilco Publishingpanelpanel.cfg===========================Correction to the answer for Nebosja (could not edit message anymore)"landing at VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=6.0 is ideal."MUST BE:"landing at VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=5.8 is ideal."
