PIC767 to be demo'ed

Featured Replies

Charityflight.com will be flying the PIC767 this Saturday, April 3rd at the Aviation,Airliners and Collectables Show in Toronto, Ontario.Any PIC pilots in the Toronto area or beyond are invited to come and see Captain Robert Hall, Devon Leslie and myself, demo the pic at the show. We are raising awareness for Charityflight's Worldflight 2004 and thought a hands on demo of PIC would intrest many. Com'on out for some great times and meet some of the guys. The show is $5.oo to get in and it runs from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm. at the Holiday Inn on Dixon Rd.Holiday Inn Toronto Airport East600 Dixon Rd (at Martin Grove)Toronto, Ontario.

Cool...Remind me again what the VNAV button does?If I recall, the real world procedure (which we will demo) was...power to 60%, push N1, rotate, at 400 feet LNAV, 1500 feet VNAV & CMD...then followed quickly by coffee and donuts...:-)Looking forward to blasting any kids who mention the word Airbus at the show...Rob.

People are going to pay money to watch Rob fly? :-hmmmLee Hetherington, PP-ASEL (KBED)PS: Go Bruins!

OK Rob, we've been through this time after timeyou've had what? say 5 year of psychological aid to stop you from hurting the innocent children? Especially on an event like this, come-on dude!! :D(for those who may not notice the note of extreme sarcasm, this is a joke, to my knowledge Rob is a caring person, to his she-who-must-be-obeyed at least!)BTW guys, I have some news on the real frontI Just passed my JAA Class-1 medical 'ride' !!This means chances are high that I'll start off towards my ATPL training in october 2004. You'll all know by now that these days we have to take what we get in aviation. So I have to, I actually feel obligated to tell you that I'll be dating another plane. As I live in Europe, and the training will be in Madrid, Spain , this plane will be following:rumble:an A320 level - D, Full Motion Flight Simulatorthis will be a requirement for my training to complete... I'll have to endure 30-40 hours in her! Yet that part is still about 2 years ahead for now so let's not run ahead of ourselves :-)(ok guys, you have 2 years to convince my FTO of changing their FFS from that A320 to the B767, wilco?)Though my heart will always be encrusted with our beloved Boeing 767, I'm just not within choice, just as YOU Rob, did not have the possibility to NOT fly that A330 back from the UKOnce it's final and decided, I'll let you know aswell, but hey, it looks promising so far!Fellow PIC-heads, cya later,BTW, for the moment being, Canada is a little tiny winy bit out of reach for me... so I won't be there to stop Rob from hurting children..., I Trust Bill will do his best!!??Cheeers

I am bringing the Vodka. Rob is on his own. :0)

Ahoy...Looks like I will be able to get down there for 11am (staying at a buddy's house near 15L CYYZ on Friday night (Wood-a-Bridge)....so, I will be happy to show Bill how to land the 767 properly, not like a Piper Archer :-) Of course, I am kidding around! Bill is an excellent PIC767 pilot, I taught him everything he forgot :-)Looking forward to seeing some of the local PIC-Heads on Saturday...Bill is planning some serious IMC conditions for me to fly in and test my ability, maybe a small wager here and there. I wonder if I will get the dreaded check ride finale...fly by hand with one engine out down to CatII minimums...can it be done? Come and have a laugh at my expense.Holiday Inn Airport Road/Dixon & Martin Grove (NOT the Holiday Inn Select).Rob.

Great idea Rob!!!Ok PIC forum. Set up the wx senerio for Rob Hall for Saturday. I'll have to program the wx into the saved flights, as we will not have online wx. So here is your chance to see if he is up to it. Failures are allowed, but they will set to random in the pic every 45 min.Tell me what winds vis temp/dew altimeter etc..

Ok, here's one for you:ENG Failure after V1.Airfield - La Paz, BoliviaQNH - 1031MB - not sure what this equals in Inches.Winds - light and variableTemp - 25CDew - 25C Vis - 1000 Metres.Oh yeah, make sure that TOW is High - watch that sucker struggle to climb at high altitude with an engine out.

...CatII minimums is as low as it will go if I am flying with 1 engine off, don't need to worry about failure settings, I will likely balls it up anyhow...very difficult to fly with 1 engine when you can't 'see' out the window. I am thinking all we need is a .wx file from a saved situation (on floppy disk)and we could use that.Anyhow, it will be fun.Rob.

La Paz...hehe...you bugger!

make that temp 35

Thanks Lenny :-)I'll be thanking you when I plummet to the ground for all to see.
