Using PIC/FDE V3, I am going through and setting the trim as specified in the read-me, and although I am a little foggy on re-setting the V speeds, I am trying that as well. Here is my question:While the 757 is rotating and climbing fine, all the way up to flight level, my N1/N2/EGT readings are almost pegged on a derated climb 2 setting, then as I increase to climb 1, and finally climb, the readings for N1/N2 can go over 100%, and EGT again is pegged on the limit line. Is this typical for the FDE, or am I missing something in my settings? I usually only fly with 70/65/70 full on the tanks, and as I mentioned, the plane is "flying" pretty decent, just seem to be stressing the engines for some reason. Thanks for your thoughts and suggestions!Neil

70-65-70 is a lot of fuel...going on a long haul??AFAIK, the centre tank is only fueled after the wing tanks are full.Try flying with less fuel.Rob.

Ok Rob, I will definately try less fuel and see how it goes. I was doing a trans-con flight, but I must admit, I have not commited myself to doing it fully by the numbers in the sim, so this may be part of the reason for my problem. Time constraints, so I try and use more time flying, less time doing other things. But I will focus on being more diligent. Thank you for your reply! Neil

I have experience the same problems with version 3 with minimal fuel. On a flight from Phoenix to Los Angeles with 17,000lbs on boards it pegs and exceeds the EGT limit. Thanks,Brian

We might take a look at it.However, notice that the engine readouts are not neccessarily 100% right in the FDE, since the 757 uses EPR as the main power indicator. We did not take time to redo the tables with correct alternate thrust N1 data. Also, after correcting the thrust tables for the real weather program problems, we might have missed this. Does not affect flight performance though.Tero

Terro,Thanks for clarifying. From what I notice it doesn't affect the flight performance at all. Just looking at the yellow/red indicators in the eye site is uncomfortable -)By the way, is the real world 757 this hard to slow down as modeled in the Version 3 FDE? I fly 2/3 times per week for work and often fly the 757 and the pilots minimally use the speed breaks. Thanks,Brian G

Brian,Yes it is. :) V3 depicts the slipperiness very well. However, it's not TOO slippery. Our 757 test pilots did not comment on it being too slippery. And from my own experience in 757 full flight sim (20hrs), it's pretty much as it should. If they don't need speedbrakes, then they will have planned the descent correctly and/or the ATC requirements have not been tough. It's a matter of how early you start the descend. Notice also that the AFDS of PIC is for 767, and also does NOT count for the winds. So they all add some extra difficulty to the game, but with careful descent planning you should have little or no problems. ;)cheersTero

Hey Lenny,I've got around 78 hours in level D sims...And recieved money for it aswell ;-)No, I don't have an ATPL nor am I working for a sim company :-)Just to brag a bit!Good luck with your ATPL!Are you aware that you may have one hell of a difficulty finding a job? Or are you sponsored by an airline that will employ you after successfully completing the checks?Regards,Mark
