January 13, 200521 yr Does anyone know if the real 767 FMC has a print function, that lets you have a hard copy of the route like what the 777 and a340 has? If so, can it be modelled in fs2004? I am not asking for a request, just a question.thanks :-) Brent Lewis
January 14, 200521 yr On 767's where ACARS is available via the FMC CDU there should be some sort of print function, but I can't say for sure if there are any print functions related to the FMC (I'm not familiar with this type of 767 CDU).Cheers.Ian.
January 14, 200521 yr yes and no... first of all the print function in the real 767 is used mainly for weather and position reports. pilots are already given a hard copy of the flight plan and are able to download the flightplan through the ACARS from the company, so there is really no reason for them to print it off from the FMC function, but for us it would be cool if the "print" button would print off a flight plan similar to the hard copy a real 767 flight would have. the catch to my statement that they wont print off flight plans from the CDU is if there is a enroute flight plan change, at that time pilots can either call up dispatch on HF radios and request it or they can request it through ACARS... either way they get the new flight plan, estimated fuel burn, ect... this, to the best of my knowledge is how the pegusus system in the hawaiian 767 works.. hope it helpskeep the dirty side down-Randy
January 24, 200521 yr Brent, Ian and Randy,This is what I found on the ACARS system in combination with the Pegasus FMC.767AOM----------------------------------------GENERAL----------------------------------------The center VHF radio is used by the ARINC Communication Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS).SATCOM is used for ACARS data communication when VHF service is not available.----------------------------------------MANUFACTURER DIFFERENCES----------------------------------------Aircraft equipped with a Allied Signal ACARS unit are working different in the FREE TEXT MESSAGE page compared to the aircraft equipped with a Teledyne ACARS unit.
