Hello again,I was wondering if the B767 has the oppurtunity to select D-TO1, D-TO2 other then just D-TO. If no assumed temp. is selected you just get TO, TO1 or TO2. (it's like the B744, B737NG, B777 series has. I don't know if the B767 has that option already)Thanks.PS. This is probarly the last question before release of the LDS 767 as I understand everything now. But you never know. ;)

Looking at the Bulfer Big Boeing FMC Users Guide, it looks like only the 777 and 747-400 have this.Cheers.Ian.

Their for the derated Climb thrust. Derated TO Thrust is set using the assumed temp method. You can prearm the Climb De-rate on the ground.

Hi Tord, you are right in what you say about de-rate and assumed temp being different. On the 757 and 767 the reduced Take Off thrust is set using the Assumed Temperature Method. This shows on the Upper EICAS as D-TO.You can also using the TMSP (Thrust Mode Select Panel) select a de-rated climb thrust reduction. Climb 1 gives a 10% Thrust Reduction and Climb 2 gives a 20% Thrust Reduction. Details of the 767 Take Off Thrust Reduction method can be found here:http://www.757.org.uk/767/sops/sop2.htmlDetails of the 767 Climb Thrust Reduction method can be found here:http://www.757.org.uk/767/sops/sop3.htmlHTH

This thread is quite interesting, as having found out that the 765 series does not have DERATE-X mode, I wonder why any other Boeings should. The reson for this is in 737NG ops, is states that the manual derate option that is avaliable on these aircraft should not be used under normal conditions as a temp independant derate is, for a number resons is potentialy dangerous and may result in unsuitable engine performance for the given conditions. In essance is states "leave it to the autos". So I put this question to those in the know:Why have this feature at all, and what occassions warrent the use of manual derate?

And maybe it's interesting to mention here that you will have the choice between different carrier options for climb thrust reduction "washout" (different methods to clear the reduction at some points of the climb)
