February 13, 200521 yr HI, I'm new to PIC 767, I've found a lot of sids and stars and app procedures missing from the fmc database. Anybody knows the coding for writing .wsd .wap and .wst files? Is some software needed for that?Is there any tutorial about that?Thank you in advance for your help.Best regardsgcj
February 13, 200521 yr Saving FMC data Pg77 of the FMC manual. It is all there for you to read and learn.Cheers
February 14, 200521 yr A quick question to this. The new 767 will off course have a FMC compatible with the DIS/Star downloads from Navdata?I see the PMDG has tons more airports covered than the old Pic 767. Any chance the FMC also would be compatible with the PMDG sid/stars?
February 14, 200521 yr Wade and crew has used a whole new set of programming for the SID and STAR database, so no. The old procedures will not be compatable. Nor will any others that are now made with the new FMC.Gary HayesLevel-D Simulations Development TeamNo im not a "real" pilot, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.P4 3.0ghz w/HT & FSB..GeForce FX 5900 ultra 256MB..1 gig PC3200 DDR RAM..Sound Blaster Audigy w/5.1 THX Gary Hayes My Youtube No i'm not a "real" pilot, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

February 16, 200521 yr Commercial Member Terry Yingling made a program called "Free PIC Editor" that a couple of us used to use to make procedures - don't know if it's still updated to work with the newer navdata.at database files though... I have been trying to find out if LDS would be interested in my service of supplying terminal procedures for the new 767. Is LDS going to provide terminal procedures every 28 days? If not, I do and would be willing to help out but I need a contact at LDS to help work out the details.Anyone interested at LDS?RegardsTerry Yinglinghttp://home.sw.rr.com/filesherenow/index.html
February 17, 200521 yr Terry, the format has completely changed - the Procedures are now stored in an all in one XML file.I am not sure how easy it would be for you to convert your data to this format. I'll pass your details onto the team.
February 17, 200521 yr I'm willing to bet it won't be that hard for him. Getting things organized on the input from the DAFIF is the hard part, outputting it to various formats is much easier. While I think Terry's service of converting DAFIF is a good idea, I'd also strongly suggest that the community have some sort of repository for updated procedure files. While the DAFIF is extremely useful, it does not handle complex procedures well such as hybrid departures where you fly a waypoint or two and then wait for vectors and finally rejoin or profile descents or RNAV arrivals with runway transitions.I'm pretty excited about seeing the XML format so that I can get busy on a few procedure files for complex airports.Ian.
February 17, 200521 yr Hi MarkThanks for the reply.>the format has completely changed - the Procedures are now>stored in an all in one XML file.Ouch. One file huh? I find it much easier for the user to update individual files, like one per airport but from your viewpoint I can see where one file is easier. Although, individual airport files also make it easier for the user to download and install other user developed airports/procedures. How will the average user, once the procedures for airport XYZ are download, insert them into the master XML file? Quite a cut and paste task when hundreds of new airports/procedures are developed by users.>I am not sure how easy it would be for you to convert your>data to this format. It's never easy but I expect it can be done. 8^)>I'll pass your details onto the team.Thank you. I look forward to getting a contact there. I can be reached at [email protected] Yingling
February 17, 200521 yr Ian,it's really easy to do. I use the FMC to make them - it even allows you to create the conditional waypoints via the FMC. I have done the whole of EGLL - that has some pretty complex departures.
February 18, 200521 yr One of the beta testers (I'll allow him to reveal himself) has created an excellent tool that imports and exports airports from the one, big XML file.Lee Hetherington, PP-ASEL (KBED)
