April 20, 200224 yr Although I consider myself a seasoned Squawkbox user, I need to know if it is necessary to switch -on- when using FSMeteo. FSMeteo is configured to use VATSIM weather, but I'm not sure if having that switch on/off makes any difference.Steve RuizNY ARTCCLife is simple. Eat, Sleep, Fly.
April 22, 200224 yr The way I understand it (and have experienced...) the VATSIM and current real-weather might differ (example: I was westbound on a flight heading over Newfoundland towards BOS coming off of a NAT with FSMeteo weather, someone was eastbound heading over towards Europe with VATSim weather, and since the pressure was significantly different, both of us were flying at the same real height AGL, but in different directions..)Basically, if I'm on VATSIM I use the Squawkbox weather, and if I'm not online use FSMeteo.P
April 23, 200224 yr Greetings.Nope, I was flying with FS_Meteo weather (VATSIM weather disabled from the option in Squakbox) and the network weather and meteo weather were different enough that I was, to everyone around me, flying the wrong direction for the altitude they were at, even though it looked fine for me. I turned off meteo, enabled weather in squakbox - viola, 1500' off, descend, everyone's happy. So now I use one or the other depending on whether I'm online or not.Take care,P
