December 22, 200223 yr Hi !Read somewhere that SB does not work well with DX9. Is this still true ? I am running XP Pro.Thanks
December 28, 200223 yr Hi,I experience a very big problem : since I use Directx 9, when connected on IVAO, my plane always appears on PC or WhazzUp approx 30 nm south of her real position. A friend experienced the same problem.Does someone have a solution ? (I didn't make a restore point on Windows XP, shame on me ! ;-()Thanks in advance.Best regards Hubert
January 14, 200323 yr I have exactly the same problem with FS2002 pro and DX9 and Win XP Pro.I appear approx 25 nm south of my actual FS2002 position on VATSIM applet. On the other hand on FS2002 I see other planes at odd positions, generally 30 nm south of where they are supposed to be...Hope the guys at SQBX will find a solution! I am pretty sure it is the DX9 compatibility which is the problem Greetings Minos Minos
January 15, 200323 yr And I'll bet both of you guys are using an older version of FSUIPC. I've heard of this behaviour.Pleae download the latest FSUIPC (which should be version 2.95) from Peter Dowson's site, or do a search on it in the Avsim files section. That should fix you up.
January 15, 200323 yr Hi to all,I solved the problem by downloading the Service Pack 1 for Windows XP from Microsoft. And now it works fine.RegardsHubert Ledouit
January 21, 200323 yr I am running FS2002 on a W2000 (SP3) Pro PC with a second (remote) PC (also W2000 (SP3)) linked to the main PC using WideServer and WideClient plus AIBridge. The remote PC runs Squawkbox, Whazzup, Servinfo and FSFlightMax.After upgrading from DirectX version 8.0 to 9.0 I had no problems for about 15 minutes into a flight...then SB began to slow down and finally locked up ..I attempted to log back in to the session but problems persisted - controller lost me on his screen etc.I re-booted and the same scenario played out again :-fumeI had to reinstall DX8.0 which runs without problems....(luckily I keep an image file of my hard drive - otherwise I would have been up s***'s creekHas anyone else had similar problems with SB and DX9?
January 22, 200323 yr I had essentially the same problem and still trying to find a solution without going back to DX8. I have FS2002, XP Pro. When I loaded DX9, everything worked well for some time (like a week), then it was on and off, and now I end up some 30-40 miles south of where I should be and it is consistent. The controller in the tower at KBOS had a hard time to find me the other morning while I did a perfect landing on RWY 22L....embarrasing! I have the latest SUIPC, Ver 1.95, and reloaded Squawkbox without producing any changes. I have not loaded Service Pack 1 yet. The problem appears to be in XP Pro or DX9 but the solution may be simple or complex if I have to revert back to DX8. Any other findings out there?Maurice
January 23, 200323 yr HiI am running XP Pro, DX 9 FS2002 and I do not have any probs..but I am viewing my flight on a second monitor on Whazzup..I am exactly where I am supposed to be..I wonder What is up?? P.S Nver had the guts to dndld the service pack after some of the horror stories I have heard here!Mb
