July 20, 200322 yr A desperate cry for help before I do something drastic like cancel my Vatsim membership :-( Ever since I moved from Win98SE to WinXP via Win2kPro I have not been able to fly with Vatsim because I am unable to see other aircraft. My current setup worked without a problem under Win98SE.Setup.Server PCRuns FS & Widefs server. No direct connection to InternetClient PCRuns Widefs client, SB, RW, FS Meteo, ActiveSky and has direct connection to Internet. This PC also runs Zone Alarm and all programs that connect to the Internet have premission so to do.I have no problem connecting SB to my MP session, in fact everything seems to be working OK except I cannot see other a/c, only callsigns and they seem to be in the wrong position. From cockpit or spot plane view I see no other traffic, however if I go to top-down view I can see a/c callsigns but they all seem to be clustered around my own position and not where they should be based on their radio transmissions. If I park up in the Cessna I can hear jet engines so I know there is other traffic near by.I get blips on the SB TCAS and they seem to be in the correct position.Things I have tried.FS, SB, Widefs & RW are all set to compatibility mode 'Windows 98/ME'I have disabled dynamic scenery in FS.In FS MP settings I have tried 'Send and receive visual details' both on & off.MP range in SB is set to 20 miles and in FSUIPC it is set to 40 miles. When another aircraft joins or leaves the session I get the text msg across the top of FS.If I open the FS chat window I can see the callsigns of other a/c.In a previous test I confirmed that other a/c can see me.If I use FS Meteo or ActiveSky the weather is sent to FS without a problem. The only thing I haven't tried is uninstalling ZA but I have tried it set to 'allow all connections' as ZA did not cause a problem under Win98SE I doubt that could be the problem - but I may be wrong.Surely there are some pilots out there that run 2PC setups under WinXP similar to mine - so what's your secret?HELPTIA
