I have tried to calibrate my mic but it keeps telling me that the background noise is too high or the quality of the mic is too low. But I have used it with RogerWilco successfully.2 questions:1) How can I be sure that when I get a new mic it will work?2) How can I set the calibration parameters manually instead of letting SB3 do it for me?Frank.

Before you dash out and buy a new mike - go online and try the existing one - ask for a radio check from on or two ATCs and see what they say.I've been using SB3 alpha /beta for ages and it has always said the same to me - but I get good reports online.....AVC was just the same before I had SB3 (and SB3 uses AVC code.)Dave

I got a good mic and it was telling me that as well. Now when it does the background check, I just flip the mute button on the mic itself and it works everytime.
