January 1, 200422 yr Hi all, Happy new year.Just a quick question, if there is no ATC in your area when you connect, what Squawk code do you use for your flight OR where do you get one issued.Hope someone can help. Thanks
January 1, 200422 yr I wouldn't worry about it. If you filed for an IFR flightplan and takeoff with a 1200 code the system will assign you the default of 2200 (I think it's 2200).IMO you should feel free to just type your own code in. Just make sure you don't type in one of the reserved codes. When you enter controlled airspace ATC will most likely assign you a code and then Radar Identify you.Hope that helps.
January 1, 200422 yr Hi Ian,Thanks for the reply. I have been searching for 3 days through all the manuals for that. Thanks for your helpHappy New Year
January 2, 200422 yr Daniel,Just to add to Ian's post. If you fly into a controlled airspace and the controlelr does not give you a Squawk code remind him, I have had this happen a few times."EGLL_CTR, Sir do you wish me to change Squawk code? "
