almost connected!

OK folks - I am almost there. Can get all the various parts to talk to themselves, however now when I get to the final step and 'connect' in SB, I get a response : GHZB>.Error in Callsign or Password. What possible errors could be in the callsign? The password is as sent by VATSIM....starting to get hopefull....PS zonealarm seems to be the source of all my previous problems. Nothing will work with it running. Am a bit confused why it was 'recommended' as working with SB etc., but since killing it is a simple fix, I will live with that for now.

I will let others answer your callsign/password problem, except to say retrace your steps and make sure both callsing and password are in fact correct. I'm not saying that is the answer but it's worth a shot. Also note that to connect to AVC you need to connect to a register server first (Pilot info tab) with your VATSIM PID and callsign you use in SB.Zone Alarm works perfectly OK with VATSIM IF you have the correct version and have it set up correctly. The latest version of ZA is known to cause problems, do a search here for 'Zone Alarm' to find which version works. If you are using the free version set Internet zone to medium level not high and you should have no problems.I have been using ZA with VATSIM for years without a problem.HTH

Delete everything from the password field. Be absolutely certain it is empty. Then type the password in again. If you still have the problem, post here which server IP you're using to connect.
