November 21, 200421 yr Hi,I am using FS2002 Pro and i am using Squawkbox 2.3.5 Beta with FSUIPC version 2.92.I normally fly online with VATSIM and i receive the weather information via VATSIM's servers. I am not sure about this but as i understand it, the metar or weather data is sent or polled by my SB from a VATSIM server, this arrives in my Squawkbox. My Squawkbox sends this data on to FSUIPC. In FSUIPC there are possibilities to alter this weather data before sending it on to my FS2002. I have everything set to default so i should receive into my FS2002 whatever the weather is. FSUIPC sends this data in to FS2002 that then displays the clouds, generates rain, creates wind etc etc etc.....My problem is that the FS2002 is not in my opinion displaying the weather accurately enough in my simulator. Therefore i am looking for a freeware program that can take the weather from VATSIM and display it better in my FS2002. I want the clouds to look better, i want the visibility and rain/snow to look better.I have seen a lot of freeware programs on Avsim but they all seem to be be for generating weather when flying FS2002 not connected to VATSIM or when using the built-in fs2002 "Real world weather" function. I can not find one that uses the weather data from a VATSIM server anywhere. Here are a few that i found but nothing is meantioned about taking weather data from the VATSIM networkReal Weather Version 3 and 4Weather Center 2.1 Novice Edition Wetter 2002 v2.0 Random Weather Generator ActiveSky 2002 v1.5FSMetar Are one of these perhaps what i am looking for or should i look for something completely different?Best Regards / Jan Naslund
November 21, 200421 yr FSMetar will do what you want:http://personal.telefonica.terra.es/web/fsmetar/It doesn't take the weather from SB but metars from VATSIM metar server but in pratical terms is more or less the same.Jos
