When I start to start Squawkbox from within FS2004 I get the following error message:"Squawkbox was unable to initiate a multiplayer session. Squawkbox will not start."I am able to get on line so it is not my connection.Thanks for any suggestions.

I also found the winsockfix, but I got cold feet after reading all the warnings about how it affects the 'register', which is an area I try to avoid.I ran 'DXDIAG', and then the 'Test Direct Play' under the Network tab. This produced the attached screen with the indicated error.Do you ghave any idea how to resolve that error?Thanks a lot,Howard

Howard,As you have found, DXDiag shows an issue with DirectPlay.Run the Winsock fix - it doesnt require your interaction, it merely does what it is supposed to do.

Just had another thought.I ran dxdiag an my laptop, and got the same error.I was just wondering. I ran the winsock repair program on my computer, which is the client which runs FS and SB. Should I run it on the the computer that has the Lynksys router?

All machines need DX9.0cRun the winsockfix on them all.
