What video card for home cockpit?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,After some months of delay, I'm finally able to build a home cockpit:) Because I enjoy flying all types, it will be "loosely" based on a Boeing glass cockpit.First step is to build a decent main FS PC that will probably only run FS with external view. I will use a second PC for PFD/ND and a laptop for the CDU.What do you think of the following setup for the main PC?- Athlon XP 2800- ASUS A7N8X Deluxe MB- 512M DDR PC3200 400Mhz Kingston (CL 2.5)X 2 (ie. 1025 MB)- Western Digital 80G 7200RPM ATA-100 (8Mb buffer)- + usual DVD / CDRW and other bits.I can't decide on a graphics card!!Should I go for:a/ Leadtek Winfast 128MB FX5800 A300TDb/ MSI 128MB Geforce4 Ti4600 8X (8900-VT2D)c/ SAPPHIRE ATI RADEON 9700PRO 128MB DDR, 325/310, DVI-i, TVOd/ Auriga 128M ATI 9700PRO w/TV & DVI Out I have also lined up a Sanyo Z1 LCD projector for the external view:) .Would you change anything from my list? Also, should I use this main PC to run other software such as the PM MCP or would it sap too much juice from the PC. I currently run an overclocked Celeron 600, so I have no idea what kind of performance to expect from a new PC. Any comments welcome.NickAustralia
