August 7, 200322 yr Hi,yesterday night finally i was made the test to work the FsBus with rotary encoders.A good friend of mine, made the circuit for the test and it was really a hard work when you don't have the printed circuit, but you use cables for connections etc. The target was to test it before the vacations (and because Mathias asked about it :-) )So as the pdf file was not so helpful what you have to do after the circuit, we connected the "Ausgang1" to one key position to FsBusKey and the "Ausgang2" to another. So Key1 was as Rotary2-1 and Key2 as Rotary2-2 switches for sending the increrase and decrease signal in fsuipc for Altitude change. At this point i don't know if the steps above are correct, if anyone has another suggestion...!!So we made the test and the Altitude change worked very good. By turning cw the rotary encoder the Altitude was increasing and ccw the altitude was decreasing. What i noticed as small problemsA. When you turn fast the encoder to go from 10.000 feet to 32.000 feet, there was a delay in FsDisplay, even if i had it also in rotary's destination in FsBus. I think that the FsBus does not "loose key-presses" but is not so fast to change the display. I had made 4-5 turns the encoder and when stopped turning the display was continued to change values for Altitude for some sec.B. I noticed also that a "key-press" was sending in fsubs-key in every 2 detents of the rotary encoder and not in every one. So when you approach the desire altitude (i.e 32.000) and you want to get closer to this value, you have to turn the encoder with care. Every 100 feet need 2 detents. Please if anyone else had made the Redec09B with FsBus to tell us what he noticed or if i'm doing something wrong. Maybe the rotary encoder i have is not with the same specs ddm427 has.ThanksEddie ArmaosAthens - GreeceAthens-Greece
August 7, 200322 yr Hi Eddie,i beleive you did everything correct :)That is exactly what i have experienced too!But i am sure that Dirk will do something about it after the summer vacations in the new version. What realy wonders me at the moment is HOW you have manged to operate the Projectmagenta MCP with FSBUS 2 software - it w

As i first workedn with the Beta2's interface i really don't like to use and learn the old 1.3!Dirk has done a great job, not only in new futures but also for a very user-friendly interface.>What realy wonders me at the moment is HOW you have manged to>operate the Projectmagenta MCP with FSBUS 2 software - it>w
August 12, 200322 yr Author Hi pmartin, i saw your post in FlightXpress forum, but i'm don't know Deutch, i can't register there for reply :-)So i use this forum! You said :"i use knitter-switch and ddm427and i do it very quick! You have groups of pins (1-7) and you can only connect on every group of pins a switch!"1. It works also fine with knotter-switch and with reotary encoder?2. I don't have the ddm427 rotary encoder but some other encoders from USA Is there any limit or problem between different rotary encoders? What i have to check for compatibility?3.Where i can find the ddm427?4.Where are these 7 pins? In redec09b or in FsBusKey? Sorry but i can not understand where i have to connect and what. From rotary encoder there are 3 output to redec09b and from redec09b there are for output 2 pairs for 2 switches, one for increase (first switch) and the second for decrease. Right? 5. In Fsbus what kind of swiches do you have these? Rotary2, or Rotary1?Please i need your information .... !!!!Thanks a lot,Eddie
August 13, 200322 yr Hi Eddie,The DDM427 are availlable at www.Conrad.de - i believe the have an english site. The REDEC interface should be able to work with other rotaries to.The two outputs og the REDEC correspond to two seperate momentary switches ! Thats the whole trick.I hope it helps youcheersMathias
