October 5, 200322 yr Hi all...I am using FSBUS for my interface. My next challenge is to wire up all my switches to FSBUS etc. The problem I have is a I know very little on how to wire up stuff. All I remember from college is V=IR. If my switch is 28V max and rated at 0.4VA is the resistance I need to have R=28V/0.4VA in this circuit from FSBUS to switch ? Also if anyone knows of a link for understand basic electrics that would be really helpful..Thanks again for everyon'e help..
October 5, 200322 yr I am not familiar with FSBus, however the switch rating you describe is simply the maximum operational voltage and power the switch can handle before something starts to melt on it.I doubt that FSBus uses switch inputs at anywhere near 28 V and 0.4VA. You do not need to add any resistance between the input and the switch.FYI - 0.4VA means that its rated at 0.4 Watts (P=VI). That means if you pass the max of 28 Volts, the current cannot exceed 14mA. If on the other hand you connect it to say 5V, then the switch can safely handle 80mA of current. Perhaps someone with knowledge of FSB can better advise you as to its power rating.Hope this helps.-Leo
