October 23, 200322 yr Hi All...I'm making great strides on my King Air thanks to help from folks on this forum...hope to have pictures soon for all.I'm am baffled on what type of rotary switches I should use to activate my radio frequencies. I have searched the forum and have come across rotary encoders, Korry switches...but I'm confused. All I want to do is turn switch left to change 10'ths, 100th's aand right to change 1's,10's and 100's.I have the Radio shack 10 posiition rotary...could it be as simple as using this ? Not sure how to wire up to my FSKey though ?Sorry for seemingly dumb electric questions but the electronics portion of this is the hardest for me. Cadum supplied me with the FSBus boardsMany thanks for your thoughts...JB
October 24, 200322 yr Hail! And well met, fellow KA builder!I only know of my self and one other building a true dedicated KA sim. That's Ron Duckworth of Austrailia... You can see a photo of his sim at www.flightdecksolutions.com under the showcase. Ron doesn't have a website but he is working on it.As far as your question about the rotaries for your radios, I can't help much, as I am cheating... I am disassembling GF-166 radios and using the switches and rotaries from them on my panel to control the radios (why re-invent the wheel?). I'm sure that others can help though... particularyly Leo Lacava and Mike from www.mikesflightdeck.com are a couple of electronics whizes who can probably assist you. Post some info about you sim and your plans.
