November 7, 200322 yr Hey guys, After Geocities destroyed SimSpares, only a few short days after the initial opening, it's finally back online and better than before. Quite a few real aircraft parts are available! Next to be added includes knobs, buttons (mostly from MCPs), and rotary encoders (some dual concentrics).http://www.SimSpares.com We hope by next week to have the system in place for sim builders to be able to post your old stuff. The service will be free to buyers and sellers. If anyone is interested, please express interest so I'll know whether I need to focus time into it.Best regards,Roberthttp://t-b-x.com/prather/777project/banner1.jpghttp://ProMFD.cjb.net
November 7, 200322 yr I need a Lotto Win - I want that complete 757 MCP Bad. unfortunately I can't afford it
November 7, 200322 yr There will eventually be enough parts to piece one together. That unit just has for instance the V/S mounting frame and gears, the horizontal mounting plate for the readouts, etc. If you were to purchase the MCP lightplate and the switches seperately, you could get the rotaries from Ray at Blue Side Up, and the switches from AGT, FDS, Radio Shack etc. Then LEDs from basically anywhere :-) Thanks for you guys' support! I will let you know when the seller interface is ready. In the meantime, e-mail me what you're trying to sell and I will add it manually to the database.Robert
November 10, 200322 yr >>....., you could get the rotaries from Ray at Blue Side>Up, and the switches from AGT, FDS, Radio Shack etc. I bought my first rotary encoders from Blue Side Up and they sent them very fast and as the order was. But......, 1) i have sent 2 emails at Ray, asking him some details for a new order and i didn't get any answer !!!! :-(2) They sell rotary encoders with 30 detents and 15 pulses, better to check for equal number of detents & pulses.Eddie ArmaosAthens-Greece
November 19, 200322 yr Eddie,>> 1) i have sent 2 emails at Ray, asking him some details for a new order and i didn't get any answer !!!! :-(Hmmm... I e-mailed a while back without response. Great guy... maybe there's a new e-mail. Ray give us a buzz if you're reading this :-)>> 2) They sell rotary encoders with 30 detents and 15 pulses, better to check for equal number of detents & pulses.Maybe an amateur question, but why does the pulse count need to match the number of detents. I thought that typically you have a pulse high then low anyway?Roberthttp://SimSpares.com
November 19, 200322 yr About rotaries:The point is to have the feeling!!So if it has 30 detens (clicks) but only 15 pulses, when you turn right to turn heading right, it will change one value in every 2 detents (clicks). If you will make one detent nothing will happen.Maybe for non critical jobs, (like Navs & Coms) there is no problem, but with speed, hdg etc, i prefer to have equal number of pulses and detens.I hope i help you :-)Eddie ArmaosAthens-Greece
