November 22, 200322 yr Hi Ramon,Welcome to the wonderful world of sim building! There are numerous sites to visit to find replicas of parts, and Robert Prather's site SimSpares for original panels and goodies. If you dig through some of the past threads in this forum, you will find hints and tips galore.Check out Mike's Flight Deck www.mikesflightdeck.com for some great information... on his links page you can find companies like FDS, CSI, AGT and a host of others who have great parts. We here at DakenSkys are the new kids on the block, and if you have a bit of patience, then please keep us in mind, check our site often as we are gradually coming on stream with our products. Good luck, and welcome!Ken Weilandwww.DakenSkys.com
November 23, 200322 yr Hi Ramon,The price of your project depends on your skills and if you wish to simulate every system of the aircraft. As a ball park figure your looking at quite few thousand dollars to simulate an airliner cockpit with outside visuals. Its not uncommon for guys to spend over $15,000+ to achieve their simulators using real cockpits, panels and parts. For the interface to connect switches, 7 segment displays etc you have options for the Epic, Fsbus, and the upcoming InterfaceIT from FDS.For the software there are a few companies that have software for the MCP,FMC,PFD/ND and EICAS for both Airbus and Boeing. Robert Prather has his Pro MFD software which simulates the electrical and hydraulic systems of Boeing and I believe some Airbus models. As Ken said take a look at Mikes flightdeck website for some great links and also Daken-Skys for some great looking panels which will be available shortly.Take your time and spend some time studying websites and work out which is the best option for you right from the start. Nothing worse than starting to build then having to start all over again because you want to go a different direction.Gaz
