December 13, 200322 yr Hi Tralluccio, I've made my fisrt project using the great LPTSwitch.Unfortunately it doesn't support Rotary, anyway when Philippe (the Author of LPTSwitch) will read these thread will confirm .happy panels :)andrea
December 14, 200322 yr Hi there - if you go yo Betainnovations, click on "hardware", then "USB Bus", and it'll show the various items.Richard
December 14, 200322 yr >(But I would prefer>to save those money so I will be able to by electronflux to>add display to my panel in the near future!)Sadly, I have to report that the release of the eFlux project will be delayed. I haven't had a chance to update my website yet. I will be redesigning it for full-speed USB in other to add more features not currently possible with the low-speed design. That and the recent release of MS SDK has made me decide hold off the release until I can complete a custom plugin for FS in order to get at those internal offsets for displays.>p.s.>what's the difference between the "complete kit" and the "usb>kit only" in gammaray?"complete kit" contains all the required components. You would not need to go out and buy any additional parts except perhaps for a soldering iron. "usb kit" contains only a min of hard to find components specifically related to the USB side of things. You would also get the PCB and programmed micro of course. I guess I'll need to make this more obvious since it

I still have a handful of Knitter switches I don't (like) use. If anybody wants them, just drop me a line.
December 14, 200322 yr indeed I was referring to rotary switches (not encoders), those produced by knitter and alps as reported in mike's web site. This kind of rotaries simply acts as two switches, when you turn it cw it produce a series of on/off on one terminal, when you turn it ccw it produce a series on/off inputs on onother terminal. So I guess (and someone has confirmed) that thay can be used both with hacked keyboards and lpt switch. The only question is if they (hacked keyboards and/or lpt switch) can effectively recive these quick series of on/off without loosing too much of them. I've already posted this question on a trhead regarding lptswitch and I hope the author sees it and answer.lpt switch appear as an optimal solution as it allows to keep your keyboard connected and it manages normal switches without the need to hack them to make momentary switch! it's a great project!bye
