Here is my 737 MCP

Featured Replies

Dear home cockpit builders and aviation enthusiast,Finally I have managed to finish my 737NG MCP which took my 8 months, and here are the pictures that I'll be very pleasued to share with you.All my appreciation goes to Dirk firstly, without fs-bus this could not be done, Also I would like to acknowledge the contribitons of my friends (hardcore home cokpit builders in Istanbul) Mr. Kahraman, Ahmet and Cem.The front Cover of MCP is made of 0.5 mm low density polietilen, imprinted with silk serigraphy and is backlightable.(Designed with corel draw)Butons has slight protrusion, so that easily sensed by finger tip, Display windows are colorless transparent, LED windows are yellow-green transparent, finally encoders Knitter. My next plan is to go for center pedestal and overhead panel.I hope every builders got the cockpit whatever he/she dreamed.Best regardsRemzi OzturkLTBA http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/53141.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/53142.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/53143.jpg

Great Going, Remzi... I'm in the printing stages of my 737NG as well, with Mike's ideas of backlighting. Will post pics in March 04 when they are ready (now hows that for future planning...). Rahul SharmaNew Delhi, India.

Hi Remzi,Could you please describe in more detail how you printed the front of your panel? I'm getting to that stage and I'm very interested in how you did it, its very impressive!Regards,

Hi Brad,--All the thing is I did simply drawn the panel in coreldraw and went to serigrapher. 0.5 mm transparent layer has been selected, the area over 7 segment display has left colorless transparent. Altough it was possible to make theese windows red color transparent, I did not want to,because the gaps betveen 7 seg. displays still visible.--The areas over buttons (10x10 mm) has pop out slightly, unfortunately there was only round shape pop, not rectangular. At this moment it is not possible to put the LEDs windows inside of buttons. So I placed them at the top.(5x3 mm)--I have intentionally dismissed F/O side course in order to reduce cost, as well as its size. (small is beatifull :) (44x8.5 cm)--Also it would be very difficult to find a thumbwheel for V/S selector, I prefered to use "airbus style" rotary selector. Finally an adesive layer coated to backside so You can remove the protective paper and paste it over a pre-drilled plexiglas, after that you should open a few holes for rotaries an toggle switches. The most cost rising part was the filming phase. If you have got a few "colleguas" around building cockpits; it would be cost effective acting toughether. If you do not mind making custom sized MCP, I can send you my corel draw file.Hope this helps.RegardsRemzi Ozturkistanbul/Turkey

Thanks Remzi!I would appreciate that corel file.Could you send it to my email address?Kind Regards,
