FSBUS FSKey Set Up Issues with the Switches ??

Featured Replies

Hi All...I'm having a great weekend setting up my FSBUS and with everyone's help I have been slowly solkving the problems. I now have some new ones:1) My NAV/COM radios will only work if the multiplier in my rotary switch set up is set to 1. I try 25 and it locks it at 135.00 frequency setting and my rotary won't chnage anything ?My rotary set up for COM 2 is:Min 118000Max 135000Loop on overun (Unchecked)Multiplier = 1 (Only work when this is 1 ???)Offset = 1CID 4Active XLead Zero (Unchecked)Destination (FS.Stndard.com22) I am using momnetary push button switches for my A/P functions. They are the type if you press you close the switch and it opens when you let go. For some reason when I press the A/P the A/P feature goes on and off...never stays on with one press...when I press again it goes ON/OFF. I have tried setting up the switch as a toggle3) When I press the A/P switch my pitch wheel in FS goes beserk ?4) I have added some toggles to activate lights, engine starts etc. The problem I have is I have to cycle the toggle at least once before it activates the fature in FS the second time.Any thoughts comments would be really helpful...many thanks...JB

>1) My NAV/COM radios will only work if the multiplier in my>Loop on overun (Unchecked)^^^ Try turning this to "on"? Also, check how the example config has those set, they are working for me atleast.>2) I am using momnetary push button switches for my A/P>functions. I have tried>setting up the switch as a toggleIf you set it as a toggle, check that you dont have both "Up Event" and "Down event" turned on, that makes you get two events when you press the button. So for toggles, set only "up" event and "toggle", and set "up value" to 1 and "down value" to 0. And uncheck "Inverted". The goal is to get the button value turn 1 when it is pressed down, and by removing the "down" event you can make it a toggle, it then doesnt get re-toggled when you release the button.>3) When I press the A/P switch my pitch wheel in FS goes>beserk ?Trim wheel? With autopilot you cannot really use a potentiometer as a trim wheel, if you are doing that. Since autopilot adjusts trim usually, and your pot does not move, those two fight with each other. You need to make the trim from a rotary switch that just sends key events or something to "trim up" and "trim down" so that the wheel itself does not have a value.>4) I have added some toggles to activate lights, engine starts>etc. The problem I have is I have to cycle the toggle at least>once before it activates the fature in FS the second time. This is a current limitation in FSBUS which Dirk is aware of. It's not just done yet.A solution is to use a checklist, and have a saved flight with a "dark" cockpit, and always end the flight by shutting everything down properly to a "cold cockpit" state. So your switches and the saved flight are in sync.>Any thoughts comments would be really helpful...many>thanks...JBSend pics! :-) And there are bugs, and a bunch of GA-related events are missing from the predefined list, if you add those to your myfsif.ini (or whatever it was called), post them here too so we know and dont have to reinvent those ourselves :)Tuomas

Toumas, I think your remark about posting custom definitions is a great idea.It would be good as it would assist people trying to work out a problem that has already been solved, also it would assist Dirk, he would be able to take a look at the latest things people have added in their definitions & then just add them in the next release, before you know it all the items would be created with many hands at work. However they should be posted in a clear & concise standard format with a good explanation/description of what it is, this will make it easier to browse over.Glenn.
