January 10, 200521 yr I have a small cockpit using a KE72. All the switches work fine in default planes. However, I recently puchased the FSD Seneca and found that the switches don't work with it. Apparently the default key assignments do not work. How do you make it work with payware planes like the Seneca? Also, I remember months ago someone wrote on this forum about how to program the Haegstron KE72 so that the switches were synchronized with FS but I can't find it. Can anyone direct me to the information? Thanks for the help.Randall
January 11, 200521 yr That's a problem. Somewhat sad you didn't think of it before. Most payware panels don't use the default variables which you can toggle or set via fsuipc or the default FS menu (give key assignments).Only sollution to this is "key2mouse" which you can find I think via a search on google. It's from the same maker of wideview. You will need the panels to be visible when using this.

You can bind keys to a lot more things in the FSUIPC config dialog (you need to register the version of FSUIPC for that to work)The seneca doesnt sound very complex in the airplane systems, so I am wondering what the problem is. But it might well be that it also uses some custom programming in its gauges that bypasses the FS functionality to replace it with its own. Those cannot be interfaced except by emulating mouse clicks.//Tuomas
January 11, 200521 yr Author Nope. It never really occurred to me that I couldn't use the default keystrokes. I do have a registered version of FSUIPC and have been attempting to find a way to make it all work. I'll look at "key2mouse." Thanks for the suggestion.Again, anyone have information on programming the Hagstrom KE72 to synchronize with the switches in FS?Randall

You can bind keys to a lot more things in the>FSUIPC config dialog (you need to register the version of>FSUIPC for that to work)FSUIPC will not help in these airplanes, since some of their functions are *only* accessible via mouseclicks (i.e. they do not provide keyboard shortcut equivalents). This is an ongoing frustration of mine with payware airplanes, but in many cases it's due to shortcomings in the basic FS9 engine that they're trying to work around. This is common in payware airplanes that have highly realistic autopilots - for instance I can't fully use my GoFlight MCP panel with FSD International's new Avanti.Dave Blevins System: Asus P8Z68 Deluxe/Gen3 mobo *** i7 2700K @ 5gHz w/ Corsair H80 cooler NVidia GTX 570 OC *** 8 GB 1600 Corsair Vengeance DRAM *** CoolerMaster HAF X case System overclocked and tuned for FSX by fs-gs.com Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog stick/throttle & CH Products Pro Pedals Various GoFlight panels *** PFC avionics stack
January 11, 200521 yr Author What's frustrating is that I just want some very simple controls-turn on the various lights, for example. Oh well, I guess it's either back to the default planes or try key2mouse.Randall
January 11, 200521 yr Either back to the default OR try key2mouse OR you could try and contact the maker of the panel and kindly ask him to add key commands to the gau files ... you never know you might get as lucky as me (with fokker50 from espen)
January 14, 200521 yr Author Just for the curious--I found the information about synchronizing switches--basically just using FSUIPC. Also, I did email FSD regarding the problem with limited default keystrokes for the Seneca. They say they are finding ways around the problem and will include it in future updates. Nothing to do but wait and see.Randall
January 14, 200521 yr HiI think you can just replace some non interfacable gauges with fsuipc compactible freeware or payware using panel editor and work arround the prob this wayI dont remember nothing very special in this panelRegards
