Question about Jet Fighter Cockpit

Featured Replies

HelloNew to home built cockpits and was wondering if this can be done. Can you use a monitor to give the jet panel view? This monitor would be placed where the panel would be in the jet cockpit. Also, can you use the above setup and have a projector showing just the outside view without any cockpit (w on the keyboard). The object is to have both running at the same time. I would need the panel to show just that without any black around the edges and the projector view showing the outside view without the panel. If this can be done it would sure save in trying to make a relistic panel piece by piece. Thanks for your help.Regards,Ed

It depends entirely on the simulator program that you want to use. Some are written with this option already in mind (You just open the panel in a seperate window and put that window on a seperate monitor)What simulator are you using?Richard

It is possible with Falcon 4. I use dual monitors right now one for gauges the other for my OTW view. Now there's a new development that will allow MFD's to be displayed on seperate monitors as well. Here's a look at my setup as is right now, minus my new projector setup.http://www.blackoperations.comJust have a look in the gallery section.Eric

Yes, that's what I was thinking about. I use MSFS (fs9) but also have F-4. Would like to use this proceedure for fs9 flying an A-4 Skyhawk jet home built pit.ThanksRegards,Ed

In FS9 it's very easy. In addition to just moving the panel onto a seperate monitor, you can even move it over onto a second PC using WideFS, design your own panels, add hardware simulation.... the possibilities are limited only by the amount of time and money you're willing to invest :-)Richard
