March 22, 200521 yr Hello All.I want to attach analogue gauges to my 737 cockpit ( speed, flaps).i start to learn this subject through internet.Wich types of servos i can use in my project? All of these servos i can get in my local RC-Hobby shop:http://www.e-flightrc.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=72_6 This is my local shop:http://www.planetahobby.ru/catalog/index.php?cPath=16_148Sorry... it ' s in Russian.. I would like to know, whether I can use all of these RC servos or FSbus have some limitations? Thanks, Regards, Alexander.
March 22, 200521 yr Hi Alex - It is my understanding that any RC servo should work. You can also use stepper motors and air cores to operate gages. If you don't already have a copy, I suggest that you get Mike Powell's book "Building Simulated Aircraft Instrumentation" it covers just about anything you may want to know about building gages. He also gives you drawings and Bill of Materials (BOM) to make several different types of gages. You can find the book and all sorts of other good information on sim and instrument building on his web site www.mikesflightdeck.comGood luckJohn JohnMy first SIM was a Link Trainer. My last was a T-6 IIAMD Ryzen 7 7800 X3D@ 5.1 GHz, 32 GB DDR5 RAM - 3 M2 Drives. 1 TB Boot, 2 TB Sim drive, 2 TB Add-on Drive, 6TB Backup data hard driveRTX 3080 10GB VRAM, Meta Quest 3 VR Headset
March 22, 200521 yr As John says, any servo should do.Just don't use sailboats winches.Probably anyway you'd have to "destroy" the servo, take out the motor and circuit and remount it in a way that fits your gauge. For example a FLAPS gauge usually has 270
