  1. The RV 8 will be a purchase for me. I have always considered it to be the "Fighter" of the Van's RV line.
  2. My apologies. I missed your post the first time. I tried it and it worked. Thank you for the suggestion. Also, what a diplomatic way to call my attention to your original post. 🙂
  3. Thanks. I set it to VDXR. 2020 is working well, except for the magical fingers shooting light rays.
  4. I tried it on two systems, including this one which has 23H2 installed. I bought a new cable, and that didn't work. The headset is now in the Land of Lost Toys, aka, the attic.
  5. My hands are acting as controllers, also. I sorta of remember activating them as controllers when I originally set up the Quest 3. I need to go back and figure out how to turn the hands off.
  6. That worked. Thanks! Now, if I can only get rid of the light rays coming from my fingertips.
  7. This may be a dumb answer and show my ignorance. However, can the human eye see trees 20 miles away? From my flying days I know you can see things to the horizon, however, distinguishing tress from the background? I am not sure you can do that. Also, what you are seeing, or not seeing, may be a result of your GPU. I know with my RTX 3080, I see scenery popping up far less than 20 miles.
  8. There is no image. I would be interested in seeing what you are using. I went on-line and found a post that claimed to fix MSFS and Quest 3. It totally broke my system. I had to reinstall the Quest files.
  9. Thank you, guys. I mistyped in my OP. I am using the Microsoft Store version of MSFS and I’m using the Virtual Desktop. I will look into the VR Camera setting. I want to change it. I even get the white pointer lines shooting through the virtual cockpit even will the controllers not present. Rather distracting and immersion killing.
  10. I recently purchased a Quest 3, after my HP G2 died. I love the headset in MSFS, with one exception. I can't get the mouse cursor to work while in VR. The system wants the stupid controllers. I am running MSFS via the Remote Desktop app. When I select VR it quickly goes the SteamVR then MSFS appears. Everything else works fine. Just no mouse. Since I use a cockpit with numerous switches and buttons, I can usually get around the mouse, but not always.
  11. That didn't help. I removed everything, in steps, until all I had left was the Honeycomb Alpha. It still killed AOA.
  12. Thanks Lorby. The only new device is a Meta Quest 3 headset. Is it possible AOA picked up the controllers and they are interfering?
  13. After working for over a year, AOA suddenly locks up when I click on the dropdown box to add a new button binding. AOA works find with installed templets. It worked fine with axis bindings. It only freezes when clicking one of the dropdown buttons, i.e., Key down, key up, etc. I am using the latest version: v4.1 b51. I downloaded a new copy from Just Flight and installed it after removing AOA via Control Panel. Still nojoy. I cannot find a support page on Lorby's site and the Just Flight support is only for installation issues, so I am here. I can use FSUIPC or SPAD.Next to bind the buttons, however, I am trying to centralize with AOA. Thanks, John
  14. I am new to the Meta 3. However, I use the purchased Virtual Desktop app and just load MSFS from there. It works fine.
  15. I have not watched the gentleman in question very much. However, I have a jaundice view of anyone being paid to give advice on YouTube. It is just another form of advertisement. Advertisement is meant to promote the good points of your produce or service. Truth, veracity, or fairness are secondary.
  16. Interesting, however I have yet to get my new Q3 to have sound in either MSFS or DCS. I have sound with movies or videos outside of flight sims. With my HP G2 I used Voicemeter to run sound through the headset and a transducer mounted under my seat and connected through an amplifier with a low-pass filter (homemade Buttkicker). I have yet to figure out how to get it to work with the Q3. Too busy figuring out other things.
  17. Dang it, HiFlyer! Now, my wife is going be on my case for wasting time. 😉
  18. Since I only use the flight sim computer for flight sims and an occasional game, I do not run any antivirus software. The computer is only on when I am using it. Now, I could be living in lala land, but this makes computer life a lot easier to me.
  19. I am 76 and I love VR. Not just for flight simming. I watch movies on it. It is to me like being at an IMAX. I have tried Skyrim, but I don't see a lot of positives over the standard game.
  20. If I recall this correctly (I only got my Q3 a couple days ago and am still learning) you might be able to fly via the Remote Desktop software from Meta. It will give you an image of your computer's desktop. Just launch MSFS from there. Then...again...I could be showing just how word not allowed I am of the Meta software. It is quite complicated and seems to need several software apps to run different programs. I hope this helps and not confuse you.
  21. I learned to fly in at KARA in New Iberia, LA in 1968. KARA is my flight sim home. My current favorite airplane is the SWS PC-12. It is the airplane I would own, provided I still flew enough to need it and could afford such an airplane. It is fast enough to get somewhere and not too complicated.
  22. I flew in both the USAF and as a GA pilot in Cessna 172 & 182s. Today, I am just a flight sim pilot. However, I use GPS and I fly without ATC. This is your hobby. How you fly is your business. Flight regs and procedures in real aviation are to prevent accidents. You can't kill yourself in MSFS.
  23. My vote would go for the two Beechcraft, the Bonanza and Baron. They are fast enough to get somewhere and not complicated. I use to fly for business. At first I rented a C-172. Later I moved up to a C-182. It would do 150 mph which was about three times the speed of an average road trip in a car. The time savings made it worth flying. The longest flight I did was 4 hours. This was a 12 hour drive by vehicle.
  24. I decided that you offered good advice. The $150 extra is small when considered over the life of the unit. I also ordered a replacement head band with a spare battery for $50.
