What about Fsbus old users & new expected version?

Featured Replies

Hi,many-many people we already use the existing Fsbus version with a lot of PICs and PCBs made and we was expecting all of use the new Fsbus version to improve the existing fuctionality. My quesion is if the new fuctions of the new Fsbus system will be also compatible to old design. i.e It will support the new version of software blank displays in old made FsDisplay PCBs ? It will support brightness? etc.How Dirk means the compatilbe with old systems?regardsEddie ArmaosAthens-Greece

Apparently it support the old PIC modules The new brightness and dot point control will be possibleonly with the new COM and new DisplayThe PIC will be flashable only with the old COMThe new Atmel microcontroller will be flashable only with the new oneBOB

Bob thanks for your reply, brightness and dot points is now very clear that also they need new PCBs to support such fuctons. But exept the above new fuctions, the Blank displays fuction is it possible to have it in old system? You know that is very useful to have a blank ias display when flying in Vnav, the same with V/S and maybe with all the displays when battery is off!!Any idea for this?regardsEddie ArmaosAthens-Greece

Sure that the brightness and dot require new PCBbut I assume the blank display should be possible in the new software update, that don't need hardware modification it's just to send a blank command to the PIC ...BOB
