December 18, 200619 yr Jon,It sounds like you have a nice setup, do you have it documented anywhere? A radio stack would be nice. I'm planning on starting one soon.
December 27, 200619 yr I dont actually have a proper documentation of it, but you can read here why I decided to make it, and the progress that I made.....For the switch Panelhttp://virtualvfr.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?num=1113009265For the Displayhttp://virtualvfr.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?num=1153918780The Switch Panel is interfaced to the PC with the MJoy16. As this is basically a 96 button joystick, and Windows can only see a 32 button HID, I am using the MJMapper software to translate the button presses into keystrokes, which are then interpreted to FS using FSUIPC.This panel currently has the following controls;Master Battery (on/off) - ToggleMaster Alternator (on/off) - ToggleMagneto (Off/L/R/:( - 4 pos rotaryStart - Momentary Push buttonFuel Pump (on/off) - ToggleCarby Heat (on/off) - TogglePitot Heat (on/off) - ToggleLanding Lights (on/off) - ToggleRotating Beacon (on/off) - ToggleStrobe (on/off) - ToggleDome Light (on/off) - ToggleNav Lights (on/off) - ToggleHeading Bug adjust - Momentary Toggle (centre off)OB1 bug adjust - Momentary Toggle (centre off)OB2 Bug adjust - Momentary Toggle (centre off)Avionics Master (on/off) - ToggleAuto Pilot Master - Momentary Push button- Heading - Momentary Push button- Alt - Momentary Push button- Rev - Momentary Push button- App - Momentary Push buttonCom1 - These are the rotary inputs from the MJoy16,Com2 - a very cool switch - rotate slowly to adjust theNav1 - decimal part, rotate quickly to adjust the wholeNav2 - number. CCW to decrease, CW to increase. The software interface for this was written by me using VB6 and again it utilises FSUIPCBoth of the above units are in prototype housings, which are about to be redone. I will make 2 units, one dedicated to the avionics/autopilot functions, the other dedicated to the generic switches. If you want anymore info let me know, and I'll be glad to help. One thing I must do now that all the protoyping is done and I know the exact components required, is calculate the cost...... Or maybe not!!
