May 16, 200521 yr There are worse things than troubleshooting that non-working circuit or figuring out how to fit the slightly too big monitor in your panel. For the past several weeks (seems like a year) She Who Must Be Obeyed has me remodeling the first of two bathrooms. So the T-38 sim sits abandoned in a corner of the workshop as I tear out walls and float plaster joints. Next, it is wall papering and ceramic tile. If you never hear from me again, I probably fell into the wallpaper paste vat and drowned. So be careful before you try to impress your honey with your building skills. She just might believe you.LOLJohn JohnMy first SIM was a Link Trainer. May 16, 200521 yr Lucky you! My girl just left me for some jerk in medical school ;( Guess She wasn't up to the challenge. I think she was kinda upset when I walked her over to the setup and said: "Always remember... Sim, THEN you"Next time, I'll just lie...The perpetual bachelor of simming,Robert
May 16, 200521 yr Don't give up John. There's light at the end of the tunnel. I know. We're on bathroom number 2.When it came to house repairs, my father-in-law told his daughters "girls don't do that". Well, we're far, far from dad-in-law these days, and my wife's taken to house remodeling in a way that would make the guys from extreme home makeover proud. She goes into a room and tears it down to the studs. The room comes out in small pieces in old grocery bags.Fortunately, she does most of it herself. I get called on to carry heavy things, cut tile, do electrical work, etc. She learned drywall, painting, tile setting. So there really is light at the end. Of course, sometimes it's just another construction light. :-xxrotflmao Mikewww.mikesflightdeck.com

May 17, 200521 yr You have my deepest sympathies John!On the day all my IOCards arrived She announced we were going to redecorate before the new furniture arrived. For the last week my house has looked like Al-Quaida went after a paint factory, especially after my litle girl decided to help!It was almost nice to see as the first post after I managed to reconnect the puter a story like yours, it always helps to know you are not alone.Stil not allowed to play with the IOCards til new furniture is installed and She is happy. The Porcupineaka Simon Webbwww.desktopflying.co.ukVery slowely putting together a generic twin desktop unit.
May 17, 200521 yr I almost lost my marriage to my 'hobbies' a while ago. Seriously. I am not a 'freak' about flight simming...you don't see me on the computer for 12 hrs a day or anything like that. But the sheer fact that I would disappear into the workshop to work on the sim, before making sure that my wife was not lonely, or bored, or upset, or overworked...began small flames that grew into a fire of discontent. I'm not sure that the sim was the actual problem...more of a good barometer of where I was placing my interest. So...word to the wise...you will be married for 50+ years...your sim will last for 5. Make sure to prioritize where you invest your 'attentions'! After all...women NEED 10 times more attention than we men. Fact-of-life...can't escape it. :)
May 17, 200521 yr Author Hi all - thanks for the support. LOL I of course, was speaking tongue-in-cheek. However, Thomas brought up a true dilemma that many people, both men and women, face when involved in hobbies, volunteer activities or sports. That would be, balancing family life and extracurricular activities. My wife and I have been married for 25 years and are still in love and best of friends. So, we have worked out most of the compromises of marriage. However, Thomas JohnMy first SIM was a Link Trainer.
