July 18, 200520 yr Hi GuysIm building a B200 throttle consolemechanical design and fabricating is my specialty, however I dont know a heck of alot about pots , programming etc.Ive got the lever's utilizing 270 deg. of the pots rotation and will also include elevator , rudder and aleron trims. Is there an advantage of using 100k pots over 10kor vice versa? Also i'm thinking of using goflight boards for the interfaceis this the way to go or is there a better alternative?your advice would be much apreciatedThx Floyd Floyd Stolle www.stollco.com
July 18, 200520 yr Look beautyful!Yes, with 100K pots you get more precission. Make sure they are LINEAR and not Logarithmic. The latter are used to adjust volume on audio devices and are not suitable for linear adjustments like the aircraft controls.George DorkofikisAthens, Greecehttp://online.vatsimindicators.net/811520/1704.pnghttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/betaimg.jpg
July 19, 200520 yr The type and size of the pots depends on your interface solution. The MJoy or IOCards "USBAxis" sound like good alternatives for interfacing, they both AFAIK do filtering for the signal and connect to USB which makes thigns simple (no drivers etc needed)The resistance value (10k vs 100k) depends on the interface you go with and I second the comment that it needs to be a linear potentiometer.//Tuomas
